ENRICHMENT HOMEWORK

SPELLING HOMEWORK (Choose any 5)
PLEASE WRITE THE TITLE ABOVE EACH ACTIVITY
(Ex. Pattern Words, Computer Fun, Rainbow Words, etc.)
• Pattern Words
Words - Write each of the 5 enrichment words in pencil. Trace over
each word with a crayon or marker making a color pattern with each word.
• Disappearing Words – Write each word, then write it again but leave out one
letter…then write it again and leave out 2 letters, then three, etc….until your
word had disappeared
Example – cowboy _owboy

• Alphabetical Order And Back - Put each of the 5 enrichment words in
alphabetical order. Then put them in backwards alphabetical order.
• Computer Fun - Type each of the 5 enrichment words 3 times each on the
computer in a fun color or font or different sizes and print it out or send it to
my email

• Story Time
Time - Write a story containing all 5 of the enrichment words.
• Word Ladders – Make word ladders with each of the 5 enrichment words
(first letter on first line, first 2 letters on second line, first three letters on
third line, etc.)
• Rainbow Words - Write all 5 enrichment words using 4 different colors (Write
word in pencil, trace with 1 color, trace over same word with 2nd color, etc.)
• Backwards
Backwards Words – Write your words forwards, then backwards.
• Word Search – Make a word search containing each enrichment word. Have
someone at home solve your puzzle.
• Other Handed – First write each enrichment word with your writing hand.
Then write the same word next to the other using your opposite hand.
• Air Words – Use your finger to write each word in the air. Have a parent
do the same. See if you can figure out each other’s spelling word. Write this
on your paper as your choice and have the parent sign it to say that you
both spelled your words in the air.
• Definitions - Write a definition for each enrichment word. Use a dictionary
or dictionary.com
