ALL SURFACE BONDING KIT
INDICATIONS FOR USE: Rescue is intended as an aid for bonding to enamel, composite, porcelain, plastic and metal surfaces.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
BONDING TO DENTIN: Prophy, rinse and dry the surface to be bonded. Acid etch for 30 seconds then rinse and dry, but DO NOT
DESICCATE – LEAVE MOIST. Apply 4 coats of the Assure® Universal Bonding Resin and lightly dry after the last coat. If surface
does not appear shiny, apply 2 additional coats of Assure® Universal Bonding Resin and lightly dry. Proceed with the application of
any light cure or chemical cure paste to the bracket base and position on the tooth.
BONDING TO BLEACHED ENAMEL: Prophy teeth with a slurry of Vitamin C and water. Allow slurry to remain on the enamel for 60
seconds then rinse and dry. Acid etch, rinse and dry. Apply 4 coats of the Assure® Universal Bonding Resin lightly drying after the
last coat. Proceed with the application of any light cure or chemical cure paste to the bracket base and position on the tooth.
BONDING TO A TOOTH WITH A COMPOSITE RESTORATION: Prophy, rinse and dry any exposed enamel then roughen the
composite surface with a fine diamond. Rinse and dry the area, apply 4 coats of Assure® Universal Bonding Resin and lightly dry
after the 4th coat only. Proceed with the application of any light cure or chemical cure paste to the bracket base and position on the
tooth.
BONDING TO A TEMPORARY TOOTH: Sandblast or roughen the jacket with a fine diamond bur. Apply one coat of Reliance Plastic
Conditioner and let dry. Apply 2 coats of Assure® Universal Bonding Resin lightly drying after last coat. Proceed with the
application of any light cure or chemical cure paste to the bracket base and position on the tooth.
BONDING TO PORCELAIN SURFACE: USE CAUTION – Reliance Porc-Etch™ contains hydrofluoric acid. Placement of a rubber
dam is suggested. Do not allow material to contact gingival tissue. Sandblast the surface to be bonded. If a sandblaster is not available,
roughen the surface with a fine diamond bur. Thoroughly isolate and place Reliance Barrier Gel on the gingiva. Carefully apply a thin
coat of Reliance Porc-Etch™ to the crown or jacket. Wait 4 minutes and wipe Porc-Etch™ off with a cotton roll or gauze pad. Rinse
thoroughly with water while using a high speed suction evacuation. Dry surface thoroughly and apply one THIN coat of Reliance
Porcelain Conditioner. Wait 60 seconds or until dry. Lightly air dry if needed. Do not rinse or contaminate. Paint two generous coats
of Assure® Universal Bonding Resin on the conditioned porcelain surface and lightly dry after last coat. Proceed with the application
of any light cure or chemical cure paste to the bracket base and position on the tooth.
BONDING TO AN AMALGAM RESTORATION OR METAL SURFACE: Prophy, rinse and dry any exposed enamel then sandblast or
roughen the metal surface with a medium bur and apply 4 coats of Assure® Universal Bonding Resin and lightly dry after the 4th
coat only. Proceed with the application of any light cure or chemical cure paste to the bracket base and position on the tooth.
NOTE: If using a light cure paste, double the curing time.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONDITIONING A PLASTIC APPLIANCE: With a brush or sponge pellet, apply a thin uniform coat of
Reliance Plastic Conditioner to the plastic surface to be bonded. Wait at least 60 seconds before applying bonding paste to the
appliance. If bonding to etched primary dentition, apply 3-4 coats of Assure® Universal Bonding Resin, lightly dry after the last coat
only. Proceed with the application of any light cure or chemical cure paste to the appliance and position on the tooth.
PRECAUTIONS
Flammable.
Unpolymerized resins may cause skin sensation in susceptible persons. In case of contact with the skin, wash thoroughly with soap
and water.
Corrosive. Etching liquids or gels (phosphoric acid) are severe eye and tissue irritants. If accidentally instilled into eye, flush with
copious amounts of water and seek medical attention immediately. Contact with other tissues: rinse spill area immediately with copious
amounts of water for several minutes. Injury may result if etchant is allowed to remain on the skin or mucosa for extended periods of
time.
TEMPERATURE LIMITATION: Store at room temperature (15-30◦◦C / not to exceed 86 ◦F) or can be refrigerated (2-8◦C / 3646 ◦F). Avoid Excessive Heat. Refrigeration will prolong the shelf life of these Reliance Products.
