NYU Langone Radiology is committed to capturing the best images possible with the lowest dose of radiation. As an academic medical center, our radiologists are in a unique position to take the lead in helping to define and ad­vance radiology in today’s rapidly evolving
technological environment.
Expertise
NYU Langone Medical Center’s board certified radiologists and licensed technologists specialize in imaging and are involved in a variety of innovative collaborations and research initiatives. The Department consists of more than 100 sub-specialized academic radiologists,
many of them acknowledged leaders and innovators in their fields.
Advanced Technology
NYU Langone uses some of the most advanced imaging equipment in the world, including
high and ultra high-field MRI imaging systems (known as 1.5T and 3T magnets). MRI scan­
ners are shorter and wider than ever, making for a more patient-friendly experience. The
Center for Biomedical Imaging, an advanced research facility, features a powerful 7T magnet.
Recognition for Safety and Quality
We continually follow a rigorous set of quality standards and maintain accreditation by the
American College of Radiology (ACR). Designated by the ACR as a “Breast Imaging Center
of Excellence,” our team maintains high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.
Patient Focused Approach
We are located in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and Long Island and participate in many insurance plans. Timely delivery of reports and images allow physicians
to view patient exam status, reports and images online. In addition to our convenient
hours, weekend, evening and often same-day appointments are available. Language interpretation services are available as needed.
Our Areas of Specialization
Diagnostic services include MRI, CT, ultrasound, PET/CT, X-ray, interven­tional radiology and
nuclear medicine. Sub-specialized radiologists provide diagnostic interpretation in abdominal, biomedical, breast, cardiac, chest, emergency, general, musculoskeletal, neuroradiology, neuro interventional, nuclear medicine, pediatric, vascular interventional, and women’s
imaging. Specialty procedures include coronary artery disease and virtual colonoscopy
screening, stereotactic biopsy capability, minimally invasive techniques including radiofrequency ablation, chemoembolization, radioimmunotherapy, and bone densitometry.
