Photosynthesis
Plants perform photosynthesis to create their own food. To complete this
process, plants need carbon dioxide and water including chlorophylls in plant
cells which absorbs light energy needed for the production of photosynthesis.
The soil minerals play a very important role in plant growth
Fatima is conducting an experiment to determine the impact of light amount on
the growth of plants, so she planted five tomato plants distributed all over the
garden but in different parts.
The figure below shows the movement of the shade of this house through the
garden from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon, and number of hours where direct sun
light reaches each plant.
Question 1

Fatima decided to re-conduct the experiment but this time she will use fifty
plants instead of five within the same area
a. Do you think this is a correct decision? Explain your answer?

Fatima suggested that the plant E leaves will be damaged quickly due to the
exposure to large amount of light, Hissa disagreed with her. With whom you
agree with? Explain your answer?

violent earthquake hit the Japanese capital" Tokyo" and the central and the
north- East regions of the country on Friday, March 11. It created a
destructive tsunami ravaged the coast of " Honcio" island. Reports from"
Sindia" indicated that people were killed and wounded, in addition to the
occurrence of massive damages at a large scale . The nu-electric station in
"Onaghafa" was shut down. In addition, this earthquake led to the outbreak
of fires in Tokyo and the collapse of residential buildings. Military units were
dispatched to the most affected areas, as the president gave orders to send
war ships to the areas stroke by tsunami.
The outbreak of fire caused an explosion in oil depot belonging to "Kozmo Oil
Co" in "Akehara" one of the suburbs of the capital of Japan. According to
firefighters statement fire broke out in 14 industrial facilities in Tokyo. The
north-east part of the country was inflamed by 48 big fires.
The Japanese news agency " Kyodo News" quoted that the prime minister
said:"no signs of radioactive leakage from the nuclear power plant". Also
the Prime Minster announced that the earthquake and tsunami resulted in
a massive destruction where he promised that the government will do
everything in its power to mitigate the consequences of the disaster.

answer the following questions:
Question 1:
If you are one of the engineers working in gas extraction plant in figure 1 ,
select the most appropriate and safest location to build the station in order
to avoid damages caused by earthquakes.
