Students will be clinically competent Students will accurately position patients for radiographic procedures. Students will learn to apply appropriate technical factors. Students will practice radiation protection throughout the program duration. 2. Students will be effective communicators Students will demonstrate effective, medicallyoriented communication skills through oral, written, and group presentation projects. PROGRAM GOALS 3. Students will demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students will perform complex medical imaging examinations during trauma, surgical, and portable rotations in the clinical setting. Students will demonstrate proficiency in radiographic image analysis during image critique. Students will demonstrate proper technical factor selection for various patient scenarios while following the ALARA principals. PROGRAM GOALS 4. Students will exhibit professional growth and development Students will identify the importance of continuing education and life-long learning. Students will attend one professional seminar. Students will investigate the advanced Radiologic modalities. Students will demonstrate professional behavior. Program Effectiveness 5. Program Effectiveness Measures: At least 75% of program graduates who are actively seeking employment will obtain employment within 6 months of graduation. Students will be satisfied with their education (80% or higher). Employers will be satisfied with the graduate’s performance (80% or higher). Program will maintain a 21-month program completion rate 75% or higher. Program will maintain a first-time pass rate of ARRT board examination of 85% or higher. Schedule time, be on time, observe and ask questions of the technologists Have job shadow experience form signed Make copies for your records 1. Complete all prerequisite coursework, may be in process the semester the application is submitted ** **(submit student schedule) and final grades (unofficial) transcript to RTE program and transfer final (official) transcript to registration) when course is completed 2. Submit complete admissions packet: December 1, 2017 to February 16, 2018 3. Packet must be complete, or it will not be considered. What next! 1. Packets evaluated for completeness-those applicants will be invited to take the Health Occupation Aptitude Exam (HOAE) $60.00 at the testing center 2. Scores added to matrix Top scoring candidates (approx. 36) invited to panel format interview; 3. Interviews conducted in mid-spring multiple dates and times to be determined. No exceptions or alternate dates 4. Information from application packet and interview is compiled and scored on a matrix. Application Process, continued 1. Top scoring candidates (25) will be invited to enter program 2. If RTE 101 is already completed, program start will be in August. The next 3 highest-scoring candidates will be placed on an alternate list. 3. Notification of acceptance will occur late spring semester and is provisional to final grades and background check and drug screen, as well as passing the RTE 101 course. 4. Students may apply and interview a maximum of 3 times. 5. If requested, the radiography program staff will provide recommendations to help candidates improve their chances for success the next year, if not invited into the program. Now What Happens? From May to July, several things happen: Take RTE 101 if needed Attend RTE orientation (required) Job shadow at a clinical site if more time desired Get immunizations completed (TB) CPR certification –BLS for Healthcare 10-year Federal background check & drug screening Line up Financial Aid At least 6-8 weeks before fall semester Prepare yourself and your family for a challenging two years! Criminal Background Check This is a 10 year Federal Background Check Disqualifying Offenses: Any conviction, plea of guilty or no contest, or deferred adjudication of the following criminal offenses (felony or misdemeanor) appearing on a criminal background check will disqualify an applicant for admission to a CCCS Health Program. There is no appealing this background check. It is mandatory. Disqualifying Offenses continued I. Crimes of violence (assault, sexual offenses, arson, kidnapping, murder, any crime against an at-risk adult or juvenile, etc.). as defined in section 18-1.3-406 C.R.S. in the 10 years immediately preceding the submittal of application. II. Any offense involving unlawful sexual behavior—same time limit as above. III. Any crime, the underlying basis of which has been found by the court on the record to include an act of domestic violence, as defined in section 18-6-800.3 C.R.S. in the 7 years immediately preceding the submittal of application. IV. Any crime of child abuse, as defined in section 18-6-401 C.R.S.— same time limit as above. V. Any crime related to the sale, possession, distribution or transfer of narcotics or controlled substances—same time limit as III. VI. Crimes of theft—Felony has a 7 year limit; Misdemeanor has a 5 year limit Disqualifying Offenses continued VII. Any offense of sexual assault on a client by a psychotherapist, as defined in section 18-3-405.5 C.R.S. in the 7 years immediately preceding the submittal of application VIII. Crimes of moral turpitude (prostitution, public lewdness/exposure, etc.)Same time limit as above. IX. Registered sex offenders (NO time limit) X. Any offense in another state, the elements of which are substantially similar to the elements of any of the above offenses. XI. More than 1 DUI in the 7 years immediately preceding the submittal of application Students who have successfully completed the terms of their deferred adjudication agreement will not be disqualified.
