5. Procedures- Step by Step Game Plan:

§ Explaining Doubles Facts
o Students use the base ten blocks (specifically ones cube)
o On the board, write one plus one and have students
represent it in ones cubes.
o Then, have students write down the answer on their paper.
o Continue the same process for doubles facts 2, 3, 4, 5,
and 6.
o Ask students:
§ What they noticed they were doing when they added
on cubes for another doubles fact?
§ What do you notice about all of your answers?

Make It Visual: Floor Activity
o Students sit in a circle on the floor.
o Explain that there are some ways that can help remember
doubles facts.
o Using picture cards and addition doubles facts cardsrepresent the picture to the number.

§ 3+3 two triangles or a six-pack of soda.
§ 4+4 a spider.
