Announcing the Promotion of Mark F. Carlos
to the Position of President of PAC
Princeton Junction, NJ – September 2005--Physical Acoustics Corporation (PAC) is pleased to announce the
promotion of Mark F. Carlos to the position of President of PAC. Reporting to Ned Cunningham, President & COO
of the MISTRAS Holdings Group, Mark is responsible for the overall operations of the Group’s product divisions,
including Physical Acoustics, NDT Automation and Vibra-Metrics.
Mark is a co-founder of Physical Acoustics Corporation (June 1,
1978). In addition, Mark is also Executive Vice President and
Head of the “Products and Asset Management Business Unit” for
the MISTRAS Holdings Group with the responsibilities of
managing, planning, development and sales of high performance
Acoustic Emission Systems, Ultrasonic and NDT products for
factory automation, Vibration and process control. Mark is also
responsible for the company’s Engineering and Manufacturing
Operations Organizations and is the corporate ISO-9001
executive.
He holds a patent in AE pattern recognition and has delivered numerous papers on the subject and is a co-author
on the book “Handbook of Intelligent Sensors for Industrial Automation,” where he wrote the chapter on
Acoustic Emission. Mark is also an active member of ASNT (and an ASNT Fellow) and ASTM. In ASTM, he is
Chairman of the E07.04 AE Standards Writing Subcommittee, Secretary of E07 Executive Committee on
Nondestructive Testing, and a member of the ASTM Committee on Standards (COS).
Mark has earned two Masters Degrees, one in Business Administration from Rider University, Lawrenceville, N.J.
and the other in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in the city of New York. Graduating number
one in his undergraduate class with a 4.0 average, he received his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
from Pratt Institute, N.Y.
Mark and his wife, Christine, live in Hamilton, New Jersey. They have 2 adult daughters. In his limited spare
time, Mark enjoys his two classic automobiles, which he restored himself, reading and biking.
