Developing a sustainable and well-understood Lean culture

programme and facilitating lean improvements across the Continental Europe region.

Main Focus and Challenges
Qualifications and Experience
The Lean Leader – Continental Europe will take leadership
responsibility for driving the Lean programme across the Continental Europe region. They will work collaboratively with
business and site leaders to create a Lean culture for the
region, driving collaboration and coordination between all
sites and functions in the region. This role will be responsible
for leading policy deployment efforts to assist the business in
achieving its long term growth strategy.
• Thorough knowledge of application of Lean Manufacturing principles within an engineering environment
• Demonstrable application of lean principles including
Kaizen, 5s, Kanban, Poka Yoke, Heijunka, layout design
and pull system
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing principles including
process and material flow
• Solid understanding of lean principles and problem
solving methods
• MS Project, MS Office
• Basic statistical knowledge
Specific Responsibilities
• Demonstrate understanding, enthusiasm and passion for
what Lean Management can accomplish in the organization
• Collaborate with local Lean Champions to assess the
current state of play
• Develop a roadmap to Best Business Practice improvement, and drive a set of rolling actions that takes each
site to the next performance level
• Establish improvement projects at site level and work
with the leadership teams to successfully plan and deliver
results
• Support the creation of Value Stream Mapping Analysis
• Assist in the identification and development of Local Lean
Specialists
• Coach and develop Lean facilitators and facilitates their
return into the organization
• Assist in locating and implementing Best-in-Class Lean
Operations processes and machine design
• Support other Lean initiatives, including best practice
implementation (Best-In-Class Safety systems, etc.)
• Establish a Lean management system to track and improve operational performance
