Lead iOS Developer JOMO, which stands for Joy of Missing Out, is committed (somewhat ironically) to delivering software and campaigns that challenge people to miss out on all the noise in the online world, and re-engage with people in the real-world. We enable people to miss out, and do more! We’re developing an app will go head-to-head with Meetup and Facebook Events. These monolithic event platforms are inflexible, costly, and difficult to use. JOMO on the other hand enables spontaneous instant creation, discovery, connection and communication for all activities/events. Think of something you want to do, and just do it—activities made simple! So Why JOMO? Track Record: We have a proven board of advisors (founding CSO of eHarmony, CMO of Pandora, executives from Nielsen, just to name a few), and our leadership team has over 7 successful exits (1 IPO) and one globally successful startup that’s still growing (Untappd: www.untappd.com). Impact: JOMO will better the lives of millions of people. When we launch, the centerpiece of our campaign will be the Miss Out Movement, and we’re teaming up with leading non-profits and partners to grow the movement. It’s going to be epic, and inspire millions who are experiencing online fatigue to Miss Out and Do More. Value: As an early JOMO team member, you’ll face the normal startup stuff— fast-pace, constant change, sometimes stressful... things everyone talks about. But it also means you have options in a company that’s built to sell in 3-5 years, and your work has the potential to touch millions of people around the world. You have impact. Opportunity: If we pull this off, you can work anywhere you want, or start your own thing. The opportunities are endless if you’re an early member of a successful startup. No Bullshit: Our culture is clearly stated, and at the center is freedom to do great work, responsibility to the team and mission, and a shared understanding that respectful direct conversation moves things forward faster. Location: No, we’re not in LA, San Fran, Austin, or NY. Hell, we’re not even in a top 200 city based on population. But we have a great office environment, and are in Wilmington, NC which comes with a few great perks: ● ● ● ● ● ● ● We’re on the beach We have lots of local support We can raise money easily We can make a big impact in our community Our weather rocks—seasons with short winters We get noticed—we’re not another Silicon Valley startup.
