Your clinic is going to launch a promotion on the importance of preventing periodontal disease.
Write a ONE PAGE client handout. You can be as creative as you like. Remember that you are
gearing this to clients and the questions they may have. See Figure 1.
Your handout should touch on these points:
a. Definition of periodontal disease
b. How does periodontal disease affect dogs and cats?
c. What kind of dental services does your clinic provide.
d. What should the client do to prevent periodontal disease?

Making a Tape Muzzle

1. View the powerpoint in this training file.
2. Using your own dog or a stuffed dog, make a tape muzzle to size.
3. Photograph and document each step of the process including:
Size and type of tape
What objects did you use to measure the sections of tape?
Where did you need to trim the muzzle to make it fit properly?
4. Without using your patient, make a second muzzle using the photos and notes that you
made.
