The MILKY way Galaxy contains our Solar System which has EIGHT planets.
Each of these planets revolves around the SUN which is the centre of our solar system.

In the show Great Galaxy, Jared explained that we are in the MILKY WAY Galaxy.
Our galaxy is not the only one out there in fact scientists believe there may be MILLIONS of galaxies.
In our solar system there are EIGHT planets orbiting our sun.
The closest planet to the sun is MERCURY. This planet is often called the morning star as it is often
brighter in the morning and can be seen from our planet EARTH
The second planet is called Venus. It was named after a ROMAN Goddess. Venus is sometimes called
Earth’s TWIN as it is similar in size.
The third planet is EARTH which is the planet we live on.
Earth is the only planet known to support LIFE.
The fourth planet from the sun is MARS. It is sometimes called the RED Planet. This planet appears
red due to the high levels of rusting IRON on its surface.
JUPITER is the fifth planet from the sun and is most commonly known as the GAS Giant.
Saturn is the 6th planet from the sun and it is so big that more than 730 earths could fit into it!
Saturn is known for its beautiful RINGS which are made of Ice and Rock.
The seventh planet from the sun is URANUS. It is the only planet that rotates on its SIDE.
The final planet is NEPTUNE and is the furthest away from the SUN. A fun fact about Neptune is it
has 14 moons. It takes 164 years for this planet to orbit around the sun.
