Light detection
The smart lighting control
The SensaLUX range of products saves electricity by automatically switching lights off
when it is bright and switching lights on when it is dull or dark.

Fully automatic lighting control
Dramatic reductions in electricity use
Helps reduce global CO2 emissions
Low profile detectors
Self-contained or modular
Simple to install
Self-contained
systems
The LLS1 (surface mounted) and LLS2 (recess
mounted) are self-contained photocell
detection and switching units. They respond
to ambient light level and automatically switch
the controlled load on and off as light level
changes through the day. The sensors have
an integral rather than remote photocell so
are well suited to localised control.
How it works
82mm
Both units are microprocessor controlled.
However, operation of each is slightly
different.
LLS1 –incorporates two separate controls
for setting light levels ‘on’ and ‘off’.
LLS2 –incorporates one control to set the
‘on’ light level. The unit automatically
sets the ‘off’ level.

Location
The LLS sensors are best located where they
have a view of the representative light level,
i.e. in an area influenced by both ambient and
artificial light.

Modular systems
Typical electrical diagram SX2
The modular system comprises of a controller mounted at a suitable
electrical distribution point, a photocell (internal or external) connected
via low voltage wiring and, optionally, a clock for timed control and a
contactor for switching larger loads.

Location
The control unit is best located adjacent to the load to be controlled.
The photocell is available in two versions: recessed, ceiling mounted (PP)
or surface mounted in a weatherproofed housing (SL8P) for industrial
or external mounting.

The SensaLUX SX1 is a microprocessor control which automatically
switches off lighting whenever ambient light level rises above a chosen
level. As the daylight level reduces, SensaLUX will automatically switch
lighting on at the preset level. To avoid switching on and off during short
bright or cloudy periods the unit incorporates an adjustable time delay.
A two relay version is available (SX2) with independently adjustable on
and off levels.

A special system for shop fascia control is available. Offering the facilities
of the system detailed above, the control SX1/2 also accepts input from
a momentary-make override switch. If the override switch is located
in the fascia, the lights can be brought on for maintenance when the
photocell has switched them off.
