GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE COUNTRY: Republic of Croatia NAME OF PROJECT: Rijeka Gateway Project II SECTOR: Transport GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Loan No.7638 - HR Project ID No. P102365 The Republic of Croatia has received financing in the amount of eighty-four million EURO 84,000,000 equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Rijeka Gateway Project II, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. The Rijeka Gateway II Project is a continuation of the Rijeka Gateway Program aimed at improving the competitiveness of Rijeka as a port city, situated strategically as the gateway for Corridor Vb, one of the more important Pan-European transport routes. The Rijeka Gateway Program is not only about construction and modernization of the port. It is about helping Croatia's economy become more dynamic and more competitive. It is also about enhancing the attractiveness of the port city of Rijeka by balancing urban development, corridor connections and port development. The Second Rijeka Gateway Project for Croatia development objective is to develop the capacity, financial performance, and quality of services in the port of Rijeka to meet growing traffic demand, through publicprivate partnerships, while facilitating urban renewal by enabling the relocation of port activities. There are three components to the project. The first component of the project is port terminal development. This component includes the extension of the existing Brajdica container terminal by about 330 meters; and construction of infrastructure for a 400 meter long Zagreb container terminal. The second component of the project is port service enhancement. This component includes support in concessioning of selected terminals, equipment and technical services for information flow integration and secured port access, enhanced environmental response, and technical studies to prepare for the Master Plan implementation. The third and final component of the project is project implementation. This component includes the supervision of civil works activities, audit services for the project and support in procurement and project management. Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits dated May 2004 and revised in October 2006 , and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers dated May 2004 and revised in October 2006. Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank's international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and dgMarket as well as Official Gazette (Narodne Novine) and on the Borrower's website http://www.portauthority.hr Prequalification of suppliers and contractors will be required for the following contracts: Construction of Zagreb Berth and Extension of Brajdica Container Terminal, Section A.
