Dr. Sutton Burke will present on how adverse drug reactions may masquerade as musculoskeletal pain and how to spot
clinical signs; review the pharmacokinetics, indications, and contraindications of NSAIDS and COX-2 inhibitors; and
discuss rehabilitation links to the opioid epidemic.

Dr. Landfried will detail the surgical procedure for total knee arthroplasty and hemiarthroplasty, discuss the evolution

including treatment errors, and offer his insight on future developments within arthroplasty.

Dr. Stein will discuss the pathogenesis of basal joint arthritis and non-surgical methods of management. He will discuss
the indications and surgical procedure of basal joint suspension arthroplasty, and considerations in post-operative
rehabilitation programs. In addition, he will discuss the recognition and optimal treatment of adhesive capsulitis of the
shoulder.

Considerations in Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Medicine
Children are not small adults; therefore the child athlete is not a little adult athlete and cannot always be treated with
the same techniques used in adults. Dr. Gambacorta will discuss special considerations when evaluating and treating
the injured pediatric athlete with several common conditions, and suggest how rehabilitation program should be
modified accordingly.

for rehabilitation professionals to learn about the
latest and emerging surgical techniques directly from
local orthopedic surgeons and health professionals.

Paul Stasko and Peter Stasko are brothers and native of Batavia, NY who both completed their
undergraduate degrees at SUNY Brockport and attended Des Moines University College of
Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. They have received training in all aspects of podiatry and foot
and ankle surgery including reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, wound care, forefoot
surgery, diabetic foot care and podiatric medicine. They have multiple publications in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and other
publications as well as numerous research presentations and lectures focusing on his training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Gambacorta is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in sports medicine.His
practice focuses on the management of acute and overuse injuries in children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Gambacorta
is a former medical director of the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Medicine at Women & Children’s
Hospital of Buffalo. He has advanced training in treating pediatric sports injuries and is a fellowship trained hip
arthroscopy surgeon. He volunteers his time as team physician for the Buffalo Junior Sabres and several WNY high
schools.

Todd Stein, MD is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship trained in hand and upper extremity surgery. In
addition, he holds added qualifications in surgery of the hand. In private practice since 1995, his clinical practice
includes conditions of the hand and upper extremity including carpal tunnel syndrome, hand and thumb arthritis,
traumatic injuries involving all aspects of tendon, nerve and bone, tennis elbow, rotator cuff disease and shoulder
arthritis.

Dr. Landfried is a Board Certified general orthopedist with subspeciality certification in sports medicine. He received his
MD from Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Landfried is on the medical staff at United Memorial Medical Center
in Batavia, NY where he is Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and Chairman of the Department of Surgery. He was on
medical staff of the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Club from 1994 – 2006, and works with the Batavia Muckdogs. He
also provides medical coverage for the Batavia High School, Notre Dame High School and Genesee Community College
teams.

Elizabeth Sutton Burke earned her PharmD at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She completed pharmacy
practice residencies in community and ambulatory care before becoming board certified in ambulatory care pharmacy.
Elizabeth is also a certified diabetes educator and is an assistant professor at the Wegmans School of pharmacy at St.
John Fisher College. Additionally, Elizabeth is a pharmacist for Wegmans pharmacies and focuses her practice on
employee wellness.
Continuing Education Credit:
LeRoy Physical Therapy is recognized by the
Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing
education for Certified Athletic Trainers (AP#
P3816). This program is offered for 6.5 CEUs.
