Description
The Gamma series of precision laboratory high voltage supplies includes five models to cover the range of
voltages from 1kV to 100kV at power levels up to 100 Watts. Operating from standard 220/240V mains power,
these units provide a well stabilised, low ripple output with good line and load regulation. The high voltage
sections are fully encapsulated, and alternative plug-in voltage multiplier assemblies are available to enable
a single unit to generate either positive or negative output polarity as required, the polarity selected being
indicated by a front panel lamp. Front panel controls and analogue voltage and current meters are fitted, with
a switch to select local or remote control.
The units incorporate comprehensive protection, with an electronic overload trip circuit which operates an
electromagnetic circuit breaker. They are designed for bench use or rack mounting, the units up to 30kV being
of 4U height and the 50kV and 100kV units of 8U height.

Positive or negative, depending on which multiplier module is fitted, this may be changed by
the user. Note: the multiplier module is housed within the supply and is accessible via the top
cover and side panel.

Operation of Front Panel Controls
Mains ON/OFF push button When switched ON, the indicator lamp is lit and the control circuits are activated. The HV
output circuits are not activated until the EHT ON/OFF push button is pressed.
Polarity indicator lamps
When mains switch is ON, the + or – indicator lamp lights to show the output polarity,
depending on which HV multiplier module is fitted.
EHT ON/OFF push button Pressing this switch toggles the HV output circuits ON and OFF. When ON, the HV indicator
lamp is lit.
Voltage controls
COARSE and FINE potentiometers set the output voltage when LOCAL is selected
