2.1 Prime Factorization
I can find the prime factorization of any whole number
Vocabulary
Prime number: a number that has exactly two factors: itself and 1
Note: 1 is NOT a prime number
Composite number: a number with more than two factors
Steps
1) Write the number to be factored at the top
2) Choose ANY pair of whole numbers factors of that number
3) Continue to factor any number that is not prime.
4) When only prime numbers remain, put them in order
Example:

Prime factorization of 24: 2 x 2 x 2 x 3
Notice that it was done two different ways but the answer
came out the same way both times.
