Cells and Microorganisms Book
Organization:
The title page will be page one of your booklet. The page numbers and associated information
are detailed below. Your booklet must be neat and colorful!
1. Include a title for your book on the front cover.
2. Include a table of contents after the cover page.
3. Tell about who discovered cells and how.
In each of the following pages you should include the name, picture, and function for the organelles of a
cell.
Organelles to be included:
4. Cell membrane
5. Cytoplasm
6. Mitochondria
7. Vacuole
8. Nucleus
9. Chromosomes
10. Chloroplast
11. Cell wall
Plant cells vs. animal cells
12. Draw and label a plant cell and explain the three organelles that make it different from an animal
cell (the 2 it has the animal cell does not and the 1 that is a little different).
13. Draw and label an animal cell and explain why it does not need chloroplasts.
Microorganisms
14. Explain what microorganisms are.
15. Identify some beneficial microorganisms and explain why they are beneficial.
16. Identify some harmful microorganisms and explain why they are harmful.
17. Explain how you have been affected by microorganisms in the past week.

This extra credit assignment may be completed to replace your lowest grade in Science.
