Felsic Volcanism By: Katelyn Morrey Felsic Is an igneous rock that is relatively rich in elements that form feldspar and quartz. The word itself is a combination of the words “feldspar” and “silica”. For a rock to be classified as felsic it generally needs to contain more than 75% felsic minerals. Felsic can also be called Felsite which are very fine-grained, lightcolored volcanic rocks. Silicic Is used to describe magma or an igneous rock rich in silica. Rhyolite Rhyolite is an igneous rock of felsic composition. Usually quartz, sanidine, and plagioclase.
