Marine Biome Research By Laiken Mckay Marine Geography & Climate Location: The Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Arctic, and Southern. Description: Very Salty, The largest of all ecosystem Climate: Varies Temperature Range : Freezing at the pole and Warmer near the Equator • Plants -Algae -Seaweed -Kelp -Mashes -Grasses • Animal Species -Fish -Worms -Clams -Crabs -Shore birds -Coral -Fungi -Whales -Plankton -Invertebrates Marine Biodiversity There are 15 different species that I identified in this biome. Marine Adaptations Needed for Survival • Plants: Plants give off oxygen and that helps the algae survive. • Animals: Coral reefs like shallow warmer waters. Cold blooded animals live in warmer water more towards the shore. Cold blooded animals live in cooler w Marine Interactions of Biotic and Abiotic • Biotic: The plants give off oxygen which is needed for animals to survive in an ecosystem. What is Biodiversity? • Biodiversity is the different species of flora and fauna living together in a community within a ecosystem. Most people classify biodiversity into different species types. How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? • Use the handout given in class to answer the above question • Type your answer here
