Who Am I?
Organelle Identification Activity
Today you will learn….
 The function of cell organelles
 Differences in prokaryotic and
eukaryotic cells
 Differences in plant and animal
cells
1.
I am the control center of
eukaryotic cells and I hold the
cell’s DNA.
2.
I am called the powerhouse of
the cell. My job is to make
energy available to the cell.
3. I am found in plant cells and
some protists. I use light to
make food for the cell.
4.
I have many functions and my
location is near the cell control
center. I am the site of
chemical reactions and I
transport RNA and proteins.
Sometimes, I contain
ribosomes.
5.
My job is to suspend the cell
organelles.
6.
I am an inflexible barrier
which gives support to some
cells.
7.
My job is to digest food
particles, old organelles,
bacteria, and viruses which
enter the cell.
8.
My function is to make
ribosomes. I am located in the
control center of the cell.
9.
I am the site of protein
synthesis.
10.
I am found in animal cells and
come in pairs. I aid in cell
division.
11.
I am a whip-like structure
which help cells move.
12.
I am a short hair-like structure
which help cells move.
13.
I am found in all cells and
control what goes in and out
of the cell.
14.
My function is to modify and
package proteins for
distribution.
15.
My size can vary depending on
what type of cell I am in, but
my job is temporary storage of
materials.
16.
I am a network of rods and
tubes which gives shape to the
cell.
Comparing Plant & Animal
Cells
Let’s wrap it up…….
17.
What 3 structures are found in
all cells?
18.
Name two organelles that are
only found in plant cells.
Let’s wrap it up…….
19.
What is the main difference
between prokaryotic and
eukaryotic cells?
20.
Give an example of a
prokaryotic cell.
