TRANSBAIKAL STATE NATIONAL PARK BAIKAL

Recently at the English lessons we have learned about the national
parks around the world. When I came home after school I made up my
mind to create a presentation about world famous national parks and
reserves. Searching the internet for information, I learned that in
Russia there are many national parks and reserves. I'll describe one of
the most popular national parks Transbaikal State National Park
Baikal.
Transbaikal State National Park Baikal
Transbaikal State National Park appeared in 1986. Park covers Chivyrkuisky
Bay, Holy Nose Peninsula, the archipelago's largest island Ushkany the Baikal
seal rookery. The park is located in an average part the east coast of the lake.
Its area is 267.17 thousand km. In 40% of the park reserve regime introduced.
It is prohibited any economic activity and environmental conditions
preserved peace that allows you to maintain the population of animals and
birds at optimum levels. The park includes the Ushkany Islands - one of the
favorite habitat of the famous Baikal seal - the seal, which is the hallmark of
the lake. In the park are 5 foot tourist routes, among which is the route to
the mountain Markovo, the highest mountain peak of the Holy Nose
Peninsula, boasting panoramic view Ushkaniye islands Chivyrkuy Bay and
the sandy beaches of the Gulf of Barguzin.
The cliffs of the Holy Nose have many caves and grottoes. The most popular
among local people and tourists are the three outputs of mineral springs:
Serpentine, Culina swamps and Nechaevsky.
The park has 299 species, 3 species of amphibians and 3 species of reptiles.
Birds are represented 241 species, among them are rare, as the peregrine
falcon, black crane, golden eagle, black stork, Pallas's Fish Eagle, White-tailed
Eagle and others.

It was very interesting to learn new things about their country.
Once again, I was convinced that it is very big, beautiful and
unique. I hope I will visit Lake Baikal and admire its beauty.
