Tabling /Marketing Policy Leo O’Donovan Dining Hall Effective: This policy is in effect as of September 1, 2009. Intent: The intent of this policy is to ensure that all tabling/marketing and alike, are reviewed and approved to protect Leo O’Donovan Dining Hall from efforts that may conflict with the general student population, the University and maintain the integrity of the Dining Hall. This policy is also designed to help student organizations employ a variety of marketing methods to best promote events and initiatives in a fair and consistent manner. Policy: Students, groups and organizations tabling/marketing inside, or within a 20 foot radius outside of Leo O’Donovan Dining Hall, must have access to benefits through an advisory board or department with the University. Inherent in submitting an application is an agreement to abide by all relevant University policies including but not limited to the Speech and Expression policy, Amplified Sound policy and others. Requests must be made at least two weeks in advance, or may be declined automatically. Tabling (sitting/standing by a table) or verbally campaigning inside Leo O’Donovan Dining Hall is prohibited unless the intent is directly related to a Georgetown Dining or Auxiliary Services initiative; Georgetown Dining reserves the right to confirm or deny a request. Tabling outside within 20 feet of Leo O’Donovan Dining Hall must be requested by following the approval process below. Requestors are responsible for supplying and removing their own table and chairs and must not block any building or road egress. Marketing with the usage of posters, flyers, handouts and tabletents (advertisements placed on the dining tables) must be requested by following the approval process below, and may be displayed for a maximum of two (2) weeks. If approved, one poster may be placed in the foyer of the Dining Hall or upper level area directly past the cashier stands. Easels needed must be provided by the requestor. Approved tabletents must be displayed and taken down within two (2) weeks by the requestor; Dining Hall staff reserve the right to remove tabletents if they become soiled/damaged. Reoccurring tabling/marketing requests must be identified as such on the Tabling/ Marketing Form; failure to do so may result in denied access. Approval: Complete the Tabling/Marketing Form: - Submit to each of the following departments: 1) The Center for Student Programs [email protected] (or by mail to 316 Leavey Center) 2) Auxiliary Services [email protected] (or by mail to Auxiliary Services, Darnall Hall M-31) - Email subject line: “Request for tabling/marketing” - Include a copy of any marketing materials being used Approval for tabling and marketing in the Dining Hall is granted by both The Center for Student Programs and Auxiliary Services. Auxiliary Services will verify requestor’s affiliation with University through The Center for Student Programs, and work with Georgetown Dining to approve or deny the request based on the criteria above. If approved, the requestor will be put in contact with a Georgetown Dining manager to coordinate the implementation of the request.
