Speaking Foolishly
Job 2:9-10
Job
 Was a good man (Job 1:1)
 Perfect (complete morally, undefiled, pious)
 Upright (straight, just)
 Eschewed evil (turned away, avoided)
 Feared God (respected and obeyed God)
 Lost everything (Job 1:8-11)
 Possessions (Job 1:13-17)
 Children (Job 1:18-19)
 Wife (Job 2:9-10)
 Bad things happen to good people
 When something bad happens to you it dose not mean that you have
sinned
Job’s Wife
 Told Job to curse God
 She did not have the proper respect for God
 Job told her that she was “speaking foolishly”
 Did not have the same faith
 To a degree she endorsed what Satan said
 She did not understand eternity
 Job did not understand what was happening to him----he thought that God gave him evil
 Everything respects and obeys God
 Nature----Animals-----Man does not!
 Rev 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art
holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made
manifest.
 Jer 10:7 Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain:
forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is
none like unto thee.
Speaking Foolishly
 When we do not believe in God
 When we do not believe in Jesus
 When we do not believe in the Bible
 When we do not believe in Hell
Not Believing in God
 Big Bang Theory
 God created the world
 Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
 Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God,
so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
 Evolution Theory
 God created man
 Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them
have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and
over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
 Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him;
male and female created he them.
 Isa 45:12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have
stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
Not Believing in Jesus
 Jesus Christ is God
 Joh 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
 Joh 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken
the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
 He was not a prophet only---He was not a good man only
 Phil 2:5-9
 Jesus Christ is the only Savior for mankind (Heb 10:26; Heb 9:27-28)
 Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto
the Father, but by me.
 Joh 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this
bread, he shall live for ever:
 No man can save us from our sins
 Joh 20:30-31
Not Believing in the Bible
 The Bible is inspired by God
 2Ti 3:16-17
 The Bible contains all truth about everything
 Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:
for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he
will shew you things to come.
 The Bible is a universal objective standard for all of mankind
 Moral behavior
 1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is
in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
 Way of worship
 Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
 Way of salvation
 Heb 5:9
Not Believing in Hell
 Hell is a literal place
 Not in the mind
 2Pe 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and
delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
 Hell is a place were you do not want to go
 Movie characters quote “I’ll see you in Hell”
 Mar 9:45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life,
than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
 Mar 9:46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
 Hell is a place were God will punish the wicked eternally
 The wicked will not be annihilated
 Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into
life eternal.
Have you spoken foolishly?
 About God
 Psa 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
 About Jesus
 Joh 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that




I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
About the Bible
 Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him:
the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
About Hell
 Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed,
into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Our lives speak to one another
 1Ti 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word,
in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
