Group Reflection
In our opinion, the Revolution was not a success. Not only did
the aspect of society Ché Guevara was trying to change get
worse, some people actually died due to the harsh and
absolute government change. They changed from the
capitalist government they once had to the rigid authority of
Communism, an economic system where the government has
control over all of the country’s money. Cuba then united with
the Soviet Union making them a Soviet State. This was bad
news for America, as Cuba is only 90 miles off the coast of
Florida, of course resulting in the Cuban Missile Crisis, where
the Soviet Union attempted to sneak nuclear missiles into
Cuba. This government change was in no way better for Cuba,
thus supporting our decision that the Revolution would’ve
been better off not happening even if they already had a
corrupt harsh leader.
