Personal Effectiveness Programme
A series of 6 half day workshops
Aim
The programme has been designed to support your continuous professional development and to
learn about a range of practical tools and techniques that will help you overcome challenges, feel
good and get your ‘aimed-for’ results in all areas of your life.
It provides an opportunity of protected time to invest in yourself – to boost your emotional resilience
and plan how to succeed in 2014, in whatever way is important to you.
The programme can be taken as attendance at individual events of by signing up to the fill 6 events.
Attendance at the full six half-day events cumulatively builds up enhanced resilience to challenge and
skills, techniques and tips that help you to gain better results, at work and/or in your personal life.

This workshop will explore how best to balance work and your

This workshop will explore how to choose your response to change
and challenging situations. And how this has an impact on how you

You’ll learn ways to: create a positive work experience for yourself
and others; be the greatest positive impact for colleagues, students
and stakeholders; cope well with change and lead others to do the
same; and make the most of any situation, even if it’s not what
you’d choose.

If you’ve ever wanted to be able to let go of anxiety, stress, overwhelm, frustration, feeling low or upset, this workshop is for you. By
Manage Your Emotions learning how to take increased control of your emotions, you will

realise you can easily change how you feel, at any time. During this
uplifting workshop, you will practice simple techniques to manage
your emotions effectively e.g. to enable you to let go of negative
emotions and to switch into positive emotions such as feeling calm,
content or confident.
Workshop 4
Are there times at work when you’d like to feel, act and be
perceived as being more assertive?
Assertiveness Skills
This workshop is aimed at those who are often either too submissive
or too aggressive and who would to become more assertive in the
workplace. During the workshop you’ll learn how to learn to change
your words, tonality and body language to enhance your
communications and the results that you get. You’ll also learn
techniques to overcome doubts/anxieties about fears about
speaking up and how to ‘say no’ nicely.

Communication Style and
Achieve Better Results
During this workshop participants will be introduced to the concept
of different behavioural styles and personal preferences, so that
they can be more effective when communicating and working with
others, particularly those who challenge you.
You’ll also discover the benefits and value of each behavioural style
in working in achieving team results. This is an experiential
workshop during which you’ll work together to solve a practical and
creative challenge so you can observe and learn from different
behavioural styles in action.

Networking Skills
Is networking with others (with colleagues, stakeholders and other
professionals) a core part of your job? Do you sometimes feel
apprehensive or unsure of what to say when you meet someone
new? How to make the most of networking opportunities that you
attend?
This session is designed to enable you to be more productive when
you’re networking. Explore methods to focus your efforts while
networking, to introduce yourself to others effectively and to build
potentially mutual beneficial relationships.
