DAY 2 REJKJAVIK Meals on Board/Dinner Upon arrival, embark on a tour of Reykjavik city, which starts with Perlan (The Pearl), a fantastic domeshaped glass building supported by six massive water tanks, with an impressive water feature that runs from the basement into the atrium. Then, view the Hofoi House , one of the most beautiful and historically significant buildings in the Reykjavik area. Next, view Hallgrimskirkja Church, the largest church in Iceland, and is also Reykjavik’s main landmark and its iconic tower can be seen from almost everywhere in the city. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to explore this vibrant city centre at your own pace. You may like to explore the main downtown street, Laugavegur, offering a variety of shops, galleries, restaurants, coffee houses and bars to suit all tastes. DAY 3 REJKJAVIK – GOLDEN CIRCLE – SELFOSS Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner Today, the first leg of our journey will take you around the Golden Circle , a popular route containing some of the best known natural phenomena in Iceland. Starting at the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, you will see the site of the ancient assembly grounds as well as the visible rift where two tectonic plates are slowly separating. Next, visit the dramatic Gullfoss waterfall or the ‘Golden Waterfall’, a breathtaking two-tiered waterfall that drops 32 meters into a narrow canyon 70 meters deep and 2.5 kilometres long. Continue to the Geysir geothermal area, where the Strokkur geyser spouts hot water every few minutes. The last stop in this area will be at the Frioheimar farm, where you will get to taste geothermally-grown tomatoes from their greenhouse. DAY 4 SELFOSS – SOUTH COAST – VIK I MYRDAL Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner This morning, drive along the South coast . Start the day at the fairy tale-like Seljalandsfoss waterfall , where you can walk behind the misty cascade on a footpath. Be enthralled by the falls as it plummets 200 feet into a deep plunge pool. Further along at the Volcanic Visitor Centre at the Porvaldseyri farm, browse the exhibit about the 2010 Eyjafjallajokull eruption and its impact on the local residents. Next stop is the magnificent Skogafoss waterfall, regarded by many as the most spectacular waterfall in Iceland. Next, visit the Skogar Folk Museum that displays interesting artefacts from Iceland’s old farming and fishing days. Continue to the charming village of Vik I Myrdal , famed by a black volcanic beach. Here you will be able to see the spectacular rock arch and bird nesting cliffs of Dyrholaey and the Reynisdrangar basalt columns rising out of the ocean. DAY 5 VIK I MYRDAL – SKAFTAFELL – JOKULSARLON – BREIODALSVIK Breakfast/Dinner Today’s drive will take you to some of Iceland’s most photogenic attractions, including a visit to the beautiful Skaftafell area of Vatnajokull National Park, named for Iceland’s largest glacier. Get ready for a 1-hour guided glacier walk that will bring you through Svinafellajokull glacier where you can marvel at magnificent ice formations along the way. Afterwards, continue our journey to the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, where some of the most spectacular scenes of the James Bond movie “Die Another Day” were filmed. Huge chunks of ice regularly calve off the glacier and make their way to the sea via the glacier lagoon. You will sail among the floating icebergs on a guided boat tour . And if you are lucky, you are also likely to spot playful seals swimming in the chilly waters. Then, drive along the majestic East fjords to Breiodalsvik area for your overnight stay. Note: Please wear comfortable hiking shoes for the glacier walk. DAY 6 BREIODALSVIK – NORTH ICELAND – HUSAVIK Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner This is a long day with a lot of diverse sights! Today’s scenery in East Iceland includes tranquil fishing villages, narrow fjords, rugged tundra and sweeping landscapes. After reaching North Iceland , prepare to be amazed by the roaring Dettifoss , Europe’s most powerful waterfall. Next, explore the natural beauty of Lake Myvatn and its lunar landscapes with visits to the Namaskaro pass and the Skutustaoagigar pseudo craters . This is definitely a great day for geology enthusiasts! Continue our journey to the seaside village of Husavik, known locally as “Europe’s Whale Watching Capital”. This afternoon, you can relax and stroll around the harbour or perhaps join one of the excellent whale watching tours at your own expense. DAY 7 HUSAVIK – AKUREYRI – REYKJAVIK Breakfast/Dinner Continue our journey to the charming town of Akureyti , the largest town outside of the greater Reykjavik area. It is an old trading station and also an important fishing town and is full of stuff to see and do. Take a stroll down the town centre that is always full of life during summer. Thereafter, head back to Reykjavik. DAY 8 REYKJAVIK – BLUE LAGOON – REYKJAVIK Breakfast Today, enjoy a visit to Blue Lagoon with your complimentary premium package admission. Reputed for the unique properties of its geothermal spa water containing numerous minerals and slats that are said to be therapeutic for one’s well-being, this is a perfect opportunity for you to soak those tired muscles. Unwind in the saunas or get a massage under a waterfall at your own expense. DAY 9 REYKJAVIK – SINGAPORE Breakfast This morning is free for leisure and perhaps, some parting shots of Iceland before you transfer to the airport for your flight home.
