DAY 1 SINGAPORE – REYKJAVIK
Meals on Board
Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Reykjavik, the capital and largest city
of Iceland .
DAY 2 REJKJAVIK
Meals on Board/Dinner
Upon arrival, embark on a tour of Reykjavik city, which starts with Perlan (The Pearl), a fantastic domeshaped glass building supported by six massive water tanks, with an impressive water feature that runs
from the basement into the atrium. Then, view the Hofoi House , one of the most beautiful and historically
significant buildings in the Reykjavik area. Next, view Hallgrimskirkja Church, the largest church in
Iceland, and is also Reykjavik’s main landmark and its iconic tower can be seen from almost everywhere
in the city. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to explore this vibrant city centre at your own pace. You
may like to explore the main downtown street, Laugavegur, offering a variety of shops, galleries,
restaurants, coffee houses and bars to suit all tastes.
DAY 3 REJKJAVIK – GOLDEN CIRCLE – SELFOSS
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Today, the first leg of our journey will take you around the Golden Circle , a popular route containing
some of the best known natural phenomena in Iceland. Starting at the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir
National Park, you will see the site of the ancient assembly grounds as well as the visible rift where two
tectonic plates are slowly separating. Next, visit the dramatic Gullfoss waterfall or the ‘Golden
Waterfall’, a breathtaking two-tiered waterfall that drops 32 meters into a narrow canyon 70 meters
deep and 2.5 kilometres long. Continue to the Geysir geothermal area, where the Strokkur geyser
spouts hot water every few minutes. The last stop in this area will be at the Frioheimar farm, where you
will get to taste geothermally-grown tomatoes from their greenhouse.
DAY 4 SELFOSS – SOUTH COAST – VIK I MYRDAL
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
This morning, drive along the South coast . Start the day at the fairy tale-like Seljalandsfoss
waterfall , where you can walk behind the misty cascade on a footpath. Be enthralled by the falls as it
plummets 200 feet into a deep plunge pool. Further along at the Volcanic Visitor Centre at the
Porvaldseyri farm, browse the exhibit about the 2010 Eyjafjallajokull eruption and its impact on the local
residents. Next stop is the magnificent Skogafoss waterfall, regarded by many as the most spectacular
waterfall in Iceland. Next, visit the Skogar Folk Museum that displays interesting artefacts from
Iceland’s old farming and fishing days. Continue to the charming village of Vik I Myrdal , famed by a
black volcanic beach. Here you will be able to see the spectacular rock arch and bird nesting cliffs of
Dyrholaey and the Reynisdrangar basalt columns rising out of the ocean.
DAY 5 VIK I MYRDAL – SKAFTAFELL – JOKULSARLON – BREIODALSVIK
Breakfast/Dinner
Today’s drive will take you to some of Iceland’s most photogenic attractions, including a visit to the
beautiful Skaftafell area of Vatnajokull National Park, named for Iceland’s largest glacier. Get
ready for a 1-hour guided glacier walk that will bring you through Svinafellajokull glacier where
you can marvel at magnificent ice formations along the way. Afterwards, continue our journey to the
Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, where some of the most spectacular scenes of the James Bond movie “Die
Another Day” were filmed. Huge chunks of ice regularly calve off the glacier and make their way to the
sea via the glacier lagoon. You will sail among the floating icebergs on a guided boat tour . And if you
are lucky, you are also likely to spot playful seals swimming in the chilly waters. Then, drive along the
majestic East fjords to Breiodalsvik area for your overnight stay.
Note:
Please wear comfortable hiking shoes for the glacier walk.
DAY 6 BREIODALSVIK – NORTH ICELAND – HUSAVIK
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
This is a long day with a lot of diverse sights! Today’s scenery in East Iceland includes tranquil fishing
villages, narrow fjords, rugged tundra and sweeping landscapes. After reaching North Iceland ,
prepare to be amazed by the roaring Dettifoss , Europe’s most powerful waterfall. Next, explore the
natural beauty of Lake Myvatn and its lunar landscapes with visits to the Namaskaro pass and the
Skutustaoagigar pseudo craters . This is definitely a great day for geology enthusiasts! Continue our
journey to the seaside village of Husavik, known locally as “Europe’s Whale Watching Capital”. This
afternoon, you can relax and stroll around the harbour or perhaps join one of the excellent whale
watching tours at your own expense.
DAY 7 HUSAVIK – AKUREYRI – REYKJAVIK
Breakfast/Dinner
Continue our journey to the charming town of Akureyti , the largest town outside of the greater Reykjavik
area. It is an old trading station and also an important fishing town and is full of stuff to see and do. Take
a stroll down the town centre that is always full of life during summer. Thereafter, head back to Reykjavik.
