Torque value of terminals, see page 441 .
For marking systems and mounting material, see CLIPLIN E
catalog.
The rated cross section (see page 441) refers to untreated
conductors without ferrules .
For the protection of input and output, inductive loads must b e
dampened with an effective protection circuit .
Phoenix DEK-OE interface terminal block s
are only 6 .2 mm wide but still provide a
complete input interface with :
—electrical isolation between input an d
output at up to 2 .5 kV rms ,
—polarized due to a polarity protection diod e
and/or bridge rectifier in the input circuit ,
—light indicator for signalizing the switchin g
status .
The interface terminal blocks are fitted wit h
an optocoupler . Signal matching takes plac e
inside the interface terminal block itself . Thi s
allows simple and low-cost installation on th e
terminal strip, the natural control cabine t
interface .
The versions for peripheral voltages o f
24 V DC, 48 V DC and 125 V DC also have
the option of separating the output voltag e
from the optocoupler . This can be
recognized by the isolating connector on th e
upper surface of the terminal block .
All interface connections provide modula r
terminal block convenience . They can b e
labeled according to the standard so they
can be recorded in equipment
documentation in the normal way. The wid e
range of modular terminal block accessories
includes the EB-DIK insertion bridge fo r
bridging voltage potentials .
Individual interface channels can b e
labeled using Phoenix standard labelin g
materials (ZB 6, DS 6, etc .) .
This all means the new interface termina l
blocks offer the following advantages :
—neutral, space-saving interface in th e
terminal strip between the automatio n
device and peripheral components ,
— labeling and mounting with th e
convenience of modular terminal blocks ,
— possibility of combination with standar d
modular terminal blocks in a terminal strip .

High capacity interface modules are
necessary for directly switching actuators
and positioners, such as contactors ,
solenoid valves or motors, using economi c
digital output cards (low capacity, n o
electrical isolation but a large number of
positions) .
The Phoenix interface terminal block s
DEK-OV provide a complete output interfac e
on the basis of a 6 .2 mm wide modula r
terminal block . The most important feature s
of the power optocoupler are :
—wear-free switching up to 24 V DC/10 A and
240 V AC/800 mA ,
—status display via LED,
—electrical isolation between the input an d
output 2 .5 kV,
—integrated protection circuit on the outpu t
side ,
—zero voltage switch at AC output ,
—assembly and labeling as with modula r
terminal blocks ,
—bridging with the insertion bridges EB-DIK ,
—ambient temperature range -20°C to
+60°C ,
—also available as an actuator version .
