8‐3: Right Triangle Trigonometry
When using trigonometry to find the sides and angles of a right triangle, we call the three sides of the triangle the hypotenuse, opposite and adjacent sides. The hypotenuse will NEVER change. When looking at an angle, the two sides that make up the angle are the adjacent and hypotenuse. The other side is called the opposite (across from).
