DKSH is to launch Mars’ famous chocolate brands in Cambodia and Myanmar and to expand the availability in Thailand and Vietnam. With the new agreement, DKSH now represents Mars in seven Asian countries. Bangkok, Thailand, January 22, 2016 – DKSH Business Unit Consumer Goods, Asia’s leading Market Expansion Services provider for Fast Moving Consumer Goods, will drive the launch of Mars, M&M’S and Snickers in Cambodia and Myanmar. Up to today, Mars has had no presence in these two countries. In addition, DKSH is tasked with expanding availability and visibility of the chocolate brands in Thailand and Vietnam. DKSH will provide sales, distribution and logistics services to Mars Chocolate across all retail channels in the four South East Asian markets. The agreement is an extension of the collaboration that started in Malaysia in 1987 and also covers Singapore and Taiwan. DKSH has been present in Cambodia for more than 60 years, whereas in Myanmar, the company celebrates its 20-year anniversary this year. Terry Seremetis, General Manager South East Asia & Thailand, Mars Chocolate, said: “We selected DKSH as our regional growth partner based on the company’s deep category expertise and direct reach into traditional and modern trade outlets. Furthermore, DKSH’s services across the value chain allow us to focus on our core competencies. We are confident that the extended agreement marks a successful new chapter of our joint growth story.” Bo Nielsen, Co-Head Business Unit Consumer Goods at DKSH said: “South East Asia alone is home to more than 600 million consumers with increasing purchasing power to buy consumer goods products like chocolate. Our capillary distribution network of unique scope and depth allows more consumers to get hold of Mars products. Visibility and sales are further expanded through our marketing experts and sales force.” The partnership will further strengthen DKSH’s market position in the region while contributing incrementally to the Group’s overall earnings and profitability over time.
