Pronounce and discuss words 2130. Discuss the work packet, which will be due next Tuesday. Each completed page is worth 10 points. Write spelling words and match words with definitions Practice pronouncing and reading about vocabulary words 11-20. Go over the requirements for the spelling packet. HW: Student will complete all pages of the packet and take a spelling test each Tuesday. Packet and test will be due Tuesday, 1/27 100 Words Every High School Freshman Should Know. Discuss and define remaining terms until the end of the period Define poetry terms; first defining those she knows, then continue defining the rest with the teacher. Thursday (9:39-11:11) Skills covered: poetry analysis, speaking, reading, writing Discuss and define any remaining terms from yesterday. Introduce “Loveliest of Trees” by A.E. Housman. Define poetry terms; first defining those she knows, then continue defining the rest with the teacher. Read “Loveliest of Trees” aloud. Discuss and answer questions. Apply defined poetry terms where relevant. Identify verbs (tense/transitive/etc.) Fiction and non-fiction passages from ReadWorks.org in orange folder on second shelf next to filing cabinet.
