Program Goal:
Identify trends in medical marijuana for oncology patients, legal
policies, financial resources, & psychosocial support for all.
Program Topics Include:
1. Benefits of medical marijuana for symptom management in
cancer patients, potential bias & stigma with marijuana use.
2. Statewide guidelines for use of medical marijuana &
concerns with use of medical marijuana in this population.
3. Life review & quality of life for patients with advanced cancer.
4. Current laws regarding paid sick days and paid family leave.
5. Resources & information available to patients and caregivers.

Continuing Nursing Education:
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is an approved provider of
Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) by the Pennsylvania State
Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American
Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Continuing Nursing Education Contact Hours:
A maximum of 3.25
nursing contact hours will be awarded
for this program. The participant must attend the entire program
to be eligible for full contact hour credit.
