The Facts activity sheet
Instructions:
Choose a Drug Facts booklet from the list below and research/read about that particular
drug.
Find ONE interesting fact (or something you did not know before today) about the drug to
share with the group.
You can also use A quick guide to drugs and alcohol, 2nd edition to help with this task.
Share ONE interesting fact about the drug with the group.
Examples from the NSW Health Drug Facts booklets:
Did you know … as the effects of inhalants begin to wear off, a person may experience
effects such as headaches, nausea & dizziness. These effects can last for a number of
days?
Did you know … that those who use cannabis regularly can take up to three months to have
negative urine drug tests?
Did you know … that amyl nitrite is a clear, yellow, highly volatile and flammable liquid? The
liquid smells sweet and fruity when fresh but like ‘sweaty socks’ when stale.
Bonus activity – get creative!
Collect the “interesting facts” from the group and create a poster or a social media campaign
for your library or community.
