We have over 300 employees with an average of 15 years industry experience and are the multi-site technology and service experts within Honeywell International, a Fortune 100 company. 2 Over 30 years ago Novar launched a BAS that was specifically designed to control and manage HVAC and lighting systems for multi-site operators with hundreds or thousands of buildings, which are centrally managed. Our exclusive focus in designing solutions for multi-site operators has enabled Novar to become the market leader with over 40,000 retail buildings managed with our technology today. In addition to multi-site building automation technology, Novar offers a broad range of services that can augment a retailer’s energy and facility management efforts and help get the most from their BAS investment. We can provide as much - or as little - service as needed, by leveraging the internal expertise of our Network Operation Center as well as our network of trusted partners. Our product and service offerings deliver quick ROI, lowest life cycle costs, and have literally saved billions of dollars for our customers. 52% curs re in o t s l i a t t f q s $ .79/ 4 enance & repair l re ca a typi of retailers saw profitability pressure as the greatest internal challenge Electricity accounts for up to maint t per year cos 33% of a retailers' operating costs A multi-site retailers’ centrally managed BAS system has the greatest potential of all the projects for driving savings to the company's bottom line 3 Opus Technology Overview 4 Opus™ Building Technology Whether your goal is conserving energy or creating an ideal shopping environment, Opus™ allows you to automate the control of energy consuming loads and maintain store comfort. Opus stands apart in its flexibility, scalability and its unique focus on multi-site building management. From basic energy reporting to sophisticated energy management and analysis, Opus can be tailored to meet the evolving needs of multi-site owners and operators today and can increase building performance, improve comfort, reduce equipment downtime, provide visibility into mission-critical assets, lower energy costs, reduce maintenance spend, and improve operational efficiencies. 5 Cc Central Control and Monitoring Opus building technology is designed to control HVAC and lighting equipment in retail facilities and provides a single software platform for centrally managing your entire enterprise. With integrated features such as – remote monitoring, alarm management, reporting, and global setpoint/schedule management, Opus enables multi-site owners and operators to effectively manage hundreds or thousands of sites with minimal staffing. 6 Em Energy Management According to the Building Services Research and Information Association, Electricity accounts for up to 33% of retailers’ operating costs. Electric and natural gas rates are unpredictable and trending upward; however, energy is a manageable expense. With Opus, you can avoid unfavorable usage peaks, reduce consumption, and optimize equipment run-times by implementing energy conservation measures and managing results in realtime to optimize savings. Ea Enterprise Analytics Whether you have a standalone meter or a BAS, it’s easier than ever to quickly identifying energy outliers within multi-site portfolios. Novar’s cloud-based energy analytics platform, Opus Orchestrator™, allows you to leverage meter data to analyze energy usage and take corrective action in days - not weeks or months. It provides an easy to use interface that graphically color-codes sites based on energy performance. This allows your staff to focus on sites that will have the biggest impact on your bottom line. Sg Smart Grid Opus includes all the core technologies required to access and participate in Smart Grid Load Response programs such as Capacity Demand Response, Ancillary Services, and Real-Time Price Response. This allows customers to enroll in automated programs using OpenADR™ and Virtuwatt Link™ web services without the need for additional hardware at each site. In addition, Opus provides a fully configurable load reduction engine that can be tailored to each enrolled program and optimizes building recovery, minimizing the impact on store customers and employees. Si Customers participating in Smart Grid Load Response programs receive a number of benefits including monetary compensation that can be applied to energy efficiency projects, cost reductions via lower utility charges and effective quantity management, a greater understanding of facilities and energy usage, and valuable recognition as a good corporate citizen. System Integration Many of today’s multi-site enterprises have grown through acquisition or other adoption of sites where different systems are already in place. Connecting to, communicating with, and controlling these systems is vital to preserving existing investments in building equipment and maximizing profitability. Taking advantage of the capabilities of these different systems is challenging due to the myriad of diverse formats, protocols and data structures. Opus is designed to integrate these systems regardless of the manufacturer or protocol (LonWorks®, BACnet™ or MODBUS®) and remove the hurdles that have historically existed when integrating diverse systems. Additionally, third party service providers can integrate to Opus via open protocols, such as oBIX™. These integration features provide the flexibility needed to be successful in a diverse portfolio of equipment and/or service providers. 7 Mobile • Real-Time Site Access • Remote Troubleshooting • Alarm Monitoring SITELevel HVAC Control Rooftop Units HVAC Control Exhaust Fans Supervisory Control Executives HVAC Control Variable Frequency Drives Metering Submetering Monitoring Points Humidity CO2 Trash Compactor Critical Temperature Refrigeration Cases Security System Lighting Control Unoccupied, Employee and Customer Lighting Zones Parking Lot, Security Lighting and Signage HVAC Control Unit Heaters HQ Central Management Internet Browser • Remote Monitoring • Cloud-based Analytics Mobile • Real-Time Site Access • Remote Troubleshooting • Alarm Monitoring PC Client Supervisor/Database • Alarm Managment • Remote Monitoring • System Programming • Reporting • Enterprise Management Mobile App Internet Browser PC Client Supervisor Server Open BAS Database Other Cloud-Based Energy Analytics Subscriptions Opus Orchestrator TCP/IP (BACnet IP, Fox, MODBUS, HTTP, oBIX, SNMP, ODBC) Site Locations Headquarters Location Customer Enterprise MODBUS BACnet BACnet BACnet NovarNe NovarNet PC Client NovarNet Data Warehouse Mobile App 10 Icon Legend Stand-Alone Meter Logic One to Opus.10S Upgrade Supervisory Control Lighting Control HVAC/RTU Control Metering Internet Browser Unit Heater Blower Fan Control 11 Exhaust Fan Control Monitoring Point Opus 100% BACnet Solution Opus Open Integration & NovarNet Solution Energy Management Service Provider Opus Technology Software Opus Orchestrator Opus BAS Supervisor Opus BAS Mobile 13 Opus Technology Software Opus Orchestrator Opus Orchestrator Features Highlights • Cloud-based Platform requiring only a standard web-browser & meter data • Highly Scalable architecture for rapid expansion from 100s to 1000s of sites • Meter-hardware Agnostic with integration of E-Mon or third-party meters • Energy Outlier Identification via intelligent algorithms and color-coding for categorizing sites/groups of sites • Energy Forecast with Peak Detection for up to two weeks for supply-side planning • Comprehensive Help with videos for quick-reference 14 Product Description Opus Orchestrator is a highly-scalable, cloudbased energy analytics platform composed of application bundles that convert meter/ sub-meter data into actionable information— with special emphasis on outlier management, root-cause analysis, and productivity enhancement. It provides an easy-to-navigate environment that lets users identify energy and other cost-saving opportunities. It can be quickly deployed and configured to meet unique requirements—without programming or other complicated on-boarding tasks. Applications Energy Expert Energy Expert is a multi-site portfolio energy management application which is designed to help users quickly and easily identify energy “outlier” sites. It includes three major components: Scorecards Scorecards provide a color-coded view with graphical representation (tabular or map) of either the entire portfolio or a user-defined subset (e.g. geographic region) based on a patented algorithm. This algorithm models energy usage based on historical (meter interval) data. It rank orders sites by normalized energy (KWh/sq.ft.) and power (KW/sqft) for a specified date range and includes additional diagnostic metrics: outside air temperatures (high/low/average), savings/site (cost analysis based on user-entered utility rates), and calculated difference (actual vs. modeled). Charting Charting applications provide year over year comparisons for usage on a daily basis. A simple wizard tool is used to dynamically change date ranges, usage calculations (High/Low/Average), and outside temperature. Results are overlaid in a line graph for easy comparison. In addition, graphical load/demand profile calendar views can be used to easily identify—down to the site level—energy wasting root-causes (e.g. “equipment operating during unoccupied hours”). Color coding is used to identify “out-of-band” days and to identify opportunities for incremental savings by tuning the control system logic to better conform with specified control parameters e.g. site open/closed schedules and temperature setpoints. Reporting Reporting provides a summary of energy efficiency performance across an enterprise for a user defined date range. These reports provide similar information to the Scorecard, but in tabular “heat map” format that is sorted by location to allow for comparison across a building portfolio. In addition, reports can be exported to PDF or CSV. 15 Opus Technology Software Opus Orchestrator 16 Applications (Screen shot: Wire Sheet?) (Insert screen shot of HVAC graphic) (Screen shot: Alarm Console) Energy Analytics Energy Analytics provides a ready-to-use library of common charts/reports to aggregate and compare multiple data types from multiple sites to quickly identify and report-out trends and other energy-related discoveries. Additionally, it includes the ability to define high/low limits to automatically trigger notifications and/or generate a “snapshot” view to be added to the dashboard. Dashboard Dashboard visualization tools display the current performance metrics for a single site or enterprise. They can be tailored for a specific role and be targeted to a single point of view or department. Users can easily add relevant information to their dashboard by taking a snap shot (xCard) of any view within Energy Expert or Energy Analytics applications. Document Manager The Document Manager is a documentation repository that allows users to store relevant documents, whether for the enterprise or for specific sites, in the cloud and to share via Opus Orchestrator. Specifications Requires a standard web-browser (Internet Explorer® 8, Firefox® version 18, Chrome® version 24, Safari® version 5, and MS-Silverlight® (ver 5)) Part Numbers/Accessories Name Opus Orchestrator In addition, xCards can be easily scheduled for distribution via email. The key functions of Novar’s Installation Services are project management, engineering and design, installation, and system verification and sign-off. 66 Service Components • Project Management • Engineering and Design •Installation • Quality Assurance Test (QAT) • System Verification and Sign-off Project Management Project Managers, based at Novar’s Headquarters, are responsible for managing project scope, time, quality and budget and offer customers a single point of contact during the deployment of a project. Engineering and Design Controls System Engineers (CSE), based at Novar’s Headquarters, are responsible for creating point-to-point wiring diagrams and other control drawings, writing sequences of operations and creating application programs. In addition CSEs provide technical support to customers and installation contractors Installation Novar leverages a highly trained network of Novar-certified installers and Field Engineers. These installers are located throughout North America and have performed installations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Canada. These contractors are managed by the Novar Project Manager and are responsible for the on-site installation of the Opus BAS components. Quality Assurance Test (QAT) A QAT is a process designed to verify proper operation of all BAS equipment and control applications. During the verification process all inputs/outputs are tested and control sequences such as – heating/cooling stages are confirmed and documented. Additionally, the QAT provides key site configuration information such as – HVAC mechanical equipment model/serial numbers, BAS communication wiring sequence, lighting output/relay/breaker association and installation photos.
