Dungeon Crawl: Drives Efficiency, Triples
Sales through Multiple Online Channels
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Established in 2003 and acquired by Neville Samuels and Dov Herdan
in 2009, Dungeon Crawl has grown over the years to become Australia’s
favourite independent online seller of video games. Dungeon Crawl is
Australia’s largest eBay game seller (and 5th largest eBay seller overall).
Due to increased demand from its shoppers, the company expanded to its
own website, dungeoncrawl.com.au, in September 2010. Dungeon Crawl
also boasts an established high-street presence in Melbourne’s Central
Business District and is regularly appraised by customers as having the
best collection of new-release, backcatalogue and hard-to-find video
game titles.

automate eBay processes and help manage inventory effectively. Further,
increased shopper demand led the company to recognise a need for its own
website.
Co-owners Samuels and Herdan wanted to direct traffic to their own website
then increase conversions by utilising various comparison shopping engines
and launching a mobile store that could be accessed through customer
smart phones. They turned to ChannelAdvisor to learn how they could

diversify their efforts and expand the Dungeon Crawl brand across more
e-commerce channels.

found the solution to its eBay troubles by implementing ChannelAdvisor’s

management and order fulfillment tasks, freeing up the company to operate
its eBay store more strategically and with less hassle.
Specifically, the Order Management feature of the Marketplaces solution
helped Dungeon Crawl fulfill orders quickly and monitor and respond to
customers via a unique tracking number. ChannelAdvisor’s Inventory Juggler
feature enabled Dungeon Crawl to sell inventory through the Webstore and
eBay at the same time while preventing overselling of items. Additionally,
With ChannelAdvisor’s Marketplaces solution,
retailers have an incredibly effective tool for
harnessing the clout of sites like eBay – one
that covers everything from the automated
delivery of accurate product data to each
marketplace, to best practices for helping
products stand out in a crowd, to the troublefree management of online sales.
ChannelAdvisor’s inherent automation ensured that customer transactions
were handled in a timely manner.
✓ Comparison Shopping
Furthermore, Dungeon Crawl implemented ChannelAdvisor’s Mobile
Webstores and Comparison Shopping solutions, which have enabled
Dungeon Crawl to direct traffic to its online store and increase conversions.
“ChannelAdvisor’s Comparison Shopping solution was a key addition to the
arsenal of tools to drive traffic to the Dungeon Crawl site,” said Samuels.
“The new Mobile Webstore gives shoppers the option for easy mobile
payments via PayPal, thus increasing sales on our site. Even now, after
launch and being in market, I continue to be impressed by ChannelAdvisor’s
responsiveness, proactive strategic recommendations and industry
Comparison shopping sites exist to let
consumers see the big picture. Our
Comparison Shopping solution enables
retailers to do the same – offering the ability
to get a good look at the entire landscape,
market products across multiple sites easily
and effectively, and focus in on the most
persuasive campaign strategies. All of which
means more control, more relevancy and more
opportunities for sales.
knowledge. The ChannelAdvisor e-commerce platform and the support
team here in Melbourne have made our business what it is today.”
RESULTS
ChannelAdvisor has enabled Dungeon Crawl to manage its entire
e-commerce business through a single interface on a unified and scalable
platform. Dungeon Crawl was able to provide an enhanced shopping
experience and triple its sales in a three-month period by implementing
the ChannelAdvisor Marketplaces, Webstores and Comparison Shopping
solutions to automate and simplify its e-commerce efforts.
✓ Webstores
Our Webstores solution brings the power
of the ChannelAdvisor platform to the one
place where all eyes are on a single retailer.
We make it easy to create a web presence
that’s both an effective sales channel – driving
conversions and extending brand reach – and
that increases efficiencies across all channels,
by smoothly upselling products from an eBay
store, for instance, and cross-promoting
products across multiple marketplaces.
Using the ChannelAdvisor single-feed platform created additional benefits
for Dungeon Crawl. As a result, the co-founders were able to create ToolHQ.
com.au, a power tool shopping website, utilising the same ChannelAdvisor
platform they ran their gaming business from.
Rich Media
“We were able to see a gap in the power tool online market and fill it very
quickly,” said Samuels. “We are currently exploring three other business
opportunities and we hope to see them come to fruition soon. Our long term
business strategy could not be fulfilled without ChannelAdvisor.”
