Visit ComEd.com/UnderstandBill Or call 1-800-334-7661 GLOSSARY Residential Glossary CUSTOMER INFORMATION CHARGE DETAILS Issue Date – Date your bill was created SUPPLY – IF PROVIDED BY ComEd Account Number – Your unique identification number Electricity Supply Charge – Charge for electricity provided during Service Period – First date and last date of the billing period the billing period Customer Rate and Delivery Class – Your service classification and Transmission Services Charge – Charge to recover costs associated with ComEd’s transmission system Service Address – Location where electric service is provided Purchased Electricity Adj. – A charge or credit to true-up the revenue from customers to the expense incurred by ComEd to procure electricity it supplies to customers delivery class; for details visit ComEd.com/Ratepamphlet and usage is measured Phone Number – Primary phone number provided by you Average Daily Use – Monthly usage/days in a period Total Usage kWh-13-Month Usage (Total kWhs) – Graphical view of your monthly usage over the past 13 monthly billing periods, displaying kWh usage by month Current Charge Summary – Current bill charges summarized by SUPPLY – IF PROVIDED BY RETAIL SUPPLIER Electric Energy Charge – Charge for electricity provided by your electric retail supplier, typically including transmission services Supplier Name, Website and Phone Number – Contact information for your electricity supplier cost type detailed on page 2 of your bill METER INFORMATION Read Dates – First date and last date of billing period DELIVERY Customer Charge – A monthly charge to recover the costs associated with billing, collection, credit and customer assistance activities Load Type – Type of meter service rendered Standard Metering Charge – A monthly charge to recover the costs associated with the meter, meter reading and other metering services Reading Type - Kilowatt-hour (kWh) – Standard measure Distribution Facilities Charge – A charge to recover the costs associated Meter Number – Your unique meter identification number of electricity usage METER READING: with ComEd’s distribution system IL Electricity Distribution Charge – A charge to recover the cost of the Previous – Meter reading from first date of billing period Illinois Electricity Distribution Tax Present – Meter reading from last date of billing period Meter Lease – A charge for any optional non-standard meter-related TYPE OF METER READING – Actual, Customer, or Estimated • Actual – Actual usage data from the premise’s meter reading taken by ComEd • Customer – Usage data from the premise’s meter provided by the customer • Estimated – Estimated usage data based on your historical usage patterns • Kilowatt-hour (kWh) – Standard measure of electricity usage equipment SERVICE PERIOD TOTAL Current Bill Charges – Totals of the Supply, Delivery and Taxes & Fees sections MISCELLANEOUS Account-specific transaction charges and credits such as late payment, deposit, deferred payment agreement, budget billing Multiplier X – A factor applied to usage readings for certain Budget Billing – Fixed monthly bill amount (for Budget Billing participants only) Usage – The difference between previous and present usage Net Metering Credits – Account specific kilowatt-hour or monetarybased credits for the excess generated electricity that flows back to the grid from eligible renewable generation kinds of meters to accurately determine usage readings times any applicable multiplier (measured in kWhs) TAXES & FEES Environmental Cost Recovery Adj. – A charge or credit related to the recovery of certain environmental cleanup costs Energy Efficiency Programs – A charge to fund the portfolio of energy efficiency incentives mandated by law TOTAL AMOUNT DUE Amount Due – Service Period Total + Miscellaneous = Total amount to pay Due Date – Date the payment is due to ComEd Franchise Cost – A fee to recover costs related to the franchise agreement if any between ComEd and your municipality State/Municipal Tax – A state or local tax imposed upon the electricity used by customers Peak Time Savings – A bill credit for program participants who reduce electricity usage during Peak Time Savings hours FOR MORE INFORMATION...
