Outdoor Industry Association Honors Far Bank Enterprise’s Travis
Campbell with Advocacy Leadership Award
January 29, 2013 (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) – Far Bank Enterprises, a leader
in the fly fishing industry, is pleased to announce that the Outdoor Industry
Association® (OIA) awarded president and CEO Travis Campbell its Advocacy
Leadership Award. Campbell received the honor at the Thought Leader Dinner in
Salt Lake City as an acknowledgment of his contributions and leadership in the
industry.
Travis currently sits on the OIA board of directors to help protect access to public
lands and to grow participation in the outdoors. Having also served on the
American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA) board, Campbell has been a fly
fishing and outdoor industry advocate for over seven years. He is also active in
supporting recreation policies as seen in his contribution to an op-ed piece in
favor of the efforts led by the Land and Water Conservation Fund for its
Recreational Trails Program.
“The OIA Advocacy Leadership Awards recognize individual OIA members who
significantly contribute to the advancement the OIA policy agenda and the
outdoor industry’s stature in the public policy arena,” states OIA president and
CEO, Frank Hugelmeyer. He also notes that, “Travis is a tireless advocate for the
outdoor industry…and his leadership has helped amplify our voice in
Washington, D.C., and inspired others to get involved with policy efforts that are
critical to the long-term health of our industry.”
“Being a natural resource dependent business, I feel we do not have a choice but
to voice our concerns and develop policies to enhance the life of our industry and
our business,” comments Campbell. “I want to ensure that my children along with
Far Bank employees and our customers have access to public lands and healthy
fisheries for quality experiences shared through generations.”
