Country Facts and Cool (Important) Terms This country… Was hit by a very large earthquake which resulted in a massive tsunami in 2011, and its economy continues to improve from the impact. In 2013 joined Trans Pacific Partnership negotiations with Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, the United States, and others facilitate trade among member countries. Based on its GDP, this country has the 4th largest economy world wide. Though it has a strong production of rice, its economic weakness lies in its reliance on import of natural resources from other countries.
