This country…
 Was hit by a very large earthquake which resulted in a
massive tsunami in 2011, and its economy continues to
improve from the impact.
 In 2013 joined Trans Pacific Partnership negotiations with
Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, the United
States, and others facilitate trade among member
countries.
 Based on its GDP, this country has the 4th largest economy
world wide.
 Though it has a strong production of rice, its economic
weakness lies in its reliance on import of natural resources
from other countries.

 Recession: a period of temporary economic decline
during which trade and industrial activity are reduced
After the stock market crash in 2008, the US went into
an economic recession.
 Erode: to wear away or become destroyed slowly
 Revenue: income, especially of an organization or
country
The country’s economy eroded during the war because
they lost valuable revenue from tourism.

believe that these changes have improved
