Here are most of the reasons you can use when you are
proving. You have to have legitimate reasons to prove.
You can’t just say “because”.
Midpoint- if M is the midpoint of a segment, then it divides the segment
into two congruent segments.
Right Angle- an angle that measure 90 degrees.
Angle Bisector- a ray that divides an angle into two congruent angles.
Congruent Triangles- two triangles are congruent only if all the
corresponding sides and all the corresponding angles are congruent.
Bisector- a shape that cuts another shape into two congruent segments.
Perpendicular Lines- two lines that intersect and form right angles.
Isosceles Triangle- a triangle with two congruent sides.
CPCTC (corresponding parts in congruent triangles are congruent
- According to the definition of congruent triangles.
- If you can show that triangles are congruent then you can say that
things are congruent by CPCTC!
