Christmas is of celebrating the
birth of Jesus
It is celebrated on the 25th of
December. Christmas is a magical
season, bringing families and
friends together to share traditions
and customs which have been
around for centuries.
Many customs came from earlier mid –
winter festivals which had nothing
to do with the Christian church.
The Romans, for example, held the
festival of Saturnalia around 25
December. They decorated homes
with evergreens as they believed
that thanks to their ceremonies the
sun will have its power back.

Santa Claus
Santa Claus is one of the most
beloved Christmas symbol.
Everyone in the world know the
image of the jolly old elf who
flies in a sleigh pulled by
reindeers leaving presents.
The history of Santa Claus begins
with a man named Saint
Nicholas, the Bishop of Myra
(now – Turkey). He was known
of giving all his money to the
poor.

‘He was dressed all in fur from
his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all
tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung
on his back,
And he looked like a peddler
just opening his sack.
His eyes how they twinkled! his
dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his
nose like a cherry;
His droll little mouth was
drawn up like a bow,
And the beard on his chin was
as white as the snow.
The stump of a pipe he held
tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his
head like a wreath.
He had a broad face, and a
little round belly
That shook when he laughed
like a bowl full of jelly.
He was chubby and plump,--a
right jolly old elf-And I laughed when I saw him,
in spite of myself.’

George
Michael ‘ Last
Christmas’
Last Christmas, I gave you my
heart
But the very next day, You
gave it away
This year, to save me from
tears
I'll give it to someone special
Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance but you
still catch my eye
Tell me baby do you recognise
me?
Well it's been a year, it
doesn't surprise me
Back
(Happy Christmas!) I wrapped
it up and sent it
With a note saying "I Love
You" I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've
been
But if you kissed me now I
Next
know you'd fool me again
Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bob tails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to laugh and
sing
A sleighing song tonight
Jingle Bells
Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh

All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and

Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in Heavenly peace

Silent night, Holy night
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from Heaven
afar
Heavenly hosts sing Hallelujah
Christ, the Savior is born

Silent night, Holy night
Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from thy Holy

With the dawn of redeeming

Jesus, Lord, at thy birth
