Conviction by a court of competent jurisdiction or plea of no contest is conclusive evidence of commission.
A "crime of moral turpitude" is defined as a crime that is "deprived and inherently base" or "adversely reflects on one's honesty, integrity, or personal values."
Sebrig v. Pamintuan, 2008 WL 2497746, at *2 (Ariz. Ct. App. 2008); Raye v. Jones, 206 Ariz. 189, 191-92, 76 P.3d 863, 865-66 (Ct. App. 2003). Arizona courts
have explicitly labeled only misdemeanor shoplifting, leaving the scene of an accident, false reporting to law enforcement and bottomless dancing as crimes of
moral turpitude. Derendal v. Griffith, 209 Ariz. 416, 424, 104 P.3d 147, 155 (2005). Arizona courts have declined to classify misdemeanor assault classified as
domestic violence, misdemeanor child abuse and possession of marijuana as crimes of moral turpitude. Derendal, 209 Ariz. at 424, 104 P.3d at 155; In re
Marquardt, 161 Ariz. 206, 211, 778 P.2d 241, 246 (1989).
