The HIA website offers you lots of useful home building industry information and resources –
that can save you some serious time and help make your business-life a little easier. As a
housing industry professional, this website has been designed with you in mind. Let’s take a
closer look at some of the things that you will find.
One of the most useful sections to HIA members is Industry & Business Information.
Under Industry & Business Information you will be able to find the information you need to
run your home building or renovation business.
This section offers a range of topics including Economic Information that covers things like
the latest housing industry forecasts and facts and figures to help you plan ahead.
Under Legal Information you’ll find helpful guidelines around common problems, such as
settling payments and disputes, putting contracts together or working out tax and
compliance.
Under Standards and Regulations you can get up-to-date information on DA and building
approvals, the latest Building Code of Australia standards and more.
Managing Your Business and Employees, also in this section, has some downloadable
guides with ideas and tips for running a successful business as well as managing cash flow
and your team.
Products and Services is another useful section. This is where you will find an overview of all
of the services that HIA offers you, as a member. This includes Building and Planning
Services, Legal, and Safety Services. This is the place to come when your business needs
some professional help.
It’s also worth spending some time looking at the GreenSmart pages. GreenSmart is a
popular program helping HIA members to get green accreditation by offering training to
develop new skills.
If you’re an apprentice or you hire apprentices, the Apprentice section offers you some
excellent options and advice.
If you like the idea of Member offers and savings, take a look at the Membership section for
the latest discounts and opportunities to save some money.
One of the big advantages of being a HIA member is getting access to our extensive
Member Networks.
This includes the business partner network which offers lots of support for business partners
and spouses.
The Kitchen & Bathroom Professionals network is for members who specialise in this area.
You can join these complimentary Networks by updating your HIA member profile at any
time. You can do this quickly by going to the LOGIN button located in at the top right-hand
corner of every page on the site.
