Dr Azad is replacing Dr Birt for two days per week Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Petition sent back in time for deadline. NAPP (Bob) – few points mentioned in newsletter, i.e, named GP for patients over the age of 75, overall comments, not giving us anything extra. Will keep being a member until the free year runs out and will then see! Leaflet Racks (Bob) – did take a camera to Morrisons. Fakenham Health Centre leaflets are of various heights. Mary did contact the construction college but no feed back yet. Colin spoke to a carpenter at Egmere to trade upon his good will, would be happy to make one for us but would need to speak to his boss (John), will get him to phone Jan to see exactly what is required. Vivien had details of metal racks Colin, Jan and Bob will get together and have a look. It was decided that £300 is not excessive for two racks. PPG priority areas – three areas for improvement, any areas of quality important to patients – action plan? Another short survey with new questions and review, this should help identify possible areas of improvement. Mary – is there any way we as a practice can persuade GP’s to come to this area and live, unfortunately the same problem is all over the country not just Norfolk. Are practice staffing levels adequate for the number of patients on the list? (Pauline) - is it a funding issue re needing a new GP? Dr Azad has now replaced Dr Birt. Average number of patients to a GP 1,800, the practice has a new Health Care assistant starting in September and another nurse in February. How is the flu campaign going to be implemented? (Pauline) – Flu clinic ran very well last year and will be running the same way as last year. The clinics are drop in – no appointment is necessary. Reports: Treasurer – Colin – a donation of £300 was received at the end of July which makes a total of £2,490.42. £289 was spent on a electrical cautery machine. Dementia – Pauline –There is now a meeting held on the first Wednesday of every month at the WCH, this is in addition to the meetings held on the second and third Wednesdays. AOB – newsletter, thank you for all the contributions, excellent publication. Published every six months. Surgery may want a couple of helpers at the flu clinics. Jose mentioned a problem of some patients hearing receptionist calling for the GP, this can be a problem especially if there are a lot of people in the waiting area, phone ringing etc. Debbie will pass on to colleagues to make sure they look up to see if patient has gone down to the GP. Bob – free training courses if anybody interested to contact Bob. 120 new ambulances for the East Anglian trust. New contract SRCL for non-emergency ambulances. End of meeting. Next meeting 20th October 6pm
