2.01
GENERAL
A. All equipment and materials used shall be standard components that are regularly
manufactured and used in the manufacturer’s system.
B. All systems and components shall have been thoroughly tested and proven in actual
use.
C. All systems and components shall be provided with the availability of a toll free 24hour technical support phone number from the manufacturer. This no charge service
shall be available to dealers and installers.
D. All systems and components shall be provided with an explicit manufacturer
warranty.
2.02
DIGITAL NETWORK VIDEO RECORDER DESCRIPTION
A. The Network Video Recorder (NVR) shall be a plug-and-play unit designed
specifically for high-definition (HD) IP cameras. The embedded Linux™ operating
system shall provide a reliable platform. A self-diagnosis system shall analyze each
HDD and shall provide alerts on potential problems. Replacement of hard drives shall
be simple with easy access to hard drives.
B. A variety of 4, 8 and 16-channel units shall be available with a choice of storage
capacity.
C. The system shall include PoE (Power over Ethernet) ports for each camera. The
software shall automatically detect and configure network cameras, eliminating the
need to program any settings in the camera. All camera features shall be
configurable directly through the local user interface.
D. The graphical user interface (GUI) shall provide intuitive controls with the features
including thumbnail searches, motion detection, event logs and network connections
status dashboard. A standard USB for mouse or remote control (IR) shall be able to
be used. Remote access to the NVR shall include applications for mobile devices
(iPhone®, iPad®, and Android™ smart phones and BlackBerry®) shall be available.
Up to 8 remote users shall be permitted.
E. The recorder shall offer 1080p/60 Hz (1920 x 1080) real-time recording and display.
Multi-screen display shall be available. Playback search by thumbnail or event shall
be available. The NVR shall have a nominal system live display and transmission
video rate of 120, 240 or 480 fps, model and camera dependent.
F. H.264 compression shall be supported.
G. Multi-site control through a single user interface shall be possible using free iPIM
software.

H. The NVR shall have external eSATA device connection capability to extend the total
recording time beyond the limits of the specific internal hard drive.

The NVR shall be desk-mountable or rack-mountable in a standard 19 in. (483 mm)
rack with optional rack mount kit. The rear panel shall contain RJ-45 ports for IP
camera inputs, power receptacle, mouse port, keyboard port, USB connectors, RJ-45
network ports, HDMI monitor port, audio input/output, and alarm input/output ports.
