[email protected] Ancient Mesopotamia Do you ever wonder what it would be like to live in ancient Mesopotamia? Well I’ve got lots of interesting facts about it! Where was Mesopotamia located? Mesopotamia was located in what is now modern-day Iraq. Mesopotamia was known as the land between two rivers. The Tigris River being one, which ran along the north side of Mesopotamia and the Euphrates River ran along the south side. The Mesopotamians worshipped hundred of gods. Ordinary people depended on their own personal gods- like a guardian angel - who protected them. Some of the major gods were ANU, the father of the gods and the god of the sky. INANNA was the goddess of love and war, and NINHURSAG was the goddess of earth. These were some of the gods. The Mesopotamians developed the arch and column. They also invented a form of writing called cuneiform where they used a stylus to write on clay tablets. The Mesopotamians also invented irrigation. I hoped you’ve enjoyed reading about Mesopotamia as much as I have enjoyed learning about it.
