PERSONAL CAPTURE PERSONAL CAPTURE *Follow this instruction if you are using a MAC How to download Personal Capture Software 1. Log on to the Echo System (www.lcs.uwa.edu.au) with your staff number as the username and Pheme password. 2. Click the Downloads tab and select the relevant file to download. 3. Save the file to your computer. How to install Personal Capture Software It is recommended to contact IT for assistance as installing personal capture software to your computer requires: Administrative rights to your computer Uninstallment of any older versions of Personal Capture 1. Double-click the saved installer file. The installation disk image (.dmg) is uncompressed and mounted automatically. When you run the installer PCap software to Mac computer with OS X Mountain Lion, you may receive an error as follows: Solution: Go to Spotlight (top right hand corner of your screen) and type in “Terminal”. Select the Terminal application. In the prompt that appears, type in “java –jar”, put a space after it and then drag the downloaded .jar file from where you downloaded it to the Terminal window. The file’s filepath will appear after what you have typed. Press enter. The installer screen will now appear. Drag the Echo360 application to the applications folder. -1- 2. Drag the Echo360 Personal Capture icon onto the Applications folder icon shortcut. Personal Capture is installed to the Applications folder. 3. [Optional] Open the Applications folder and drag the Echo360 Personal Capture icon onto the Dock to create a shortcut. Echo360 Personal Capture will automatically check for new versions and a prompt will ask whether you wish to install the new version. If you install a new version, your existing recordings will be retained. How to set general configuration 1. Start EchoCapture Personal by selecting the name from the Start Menu or clicking on the application icon . 2. Navigate to Echo360 Personal Capture > Preferences. 3. Click on the General tab. 4. Enter the Default presenter name. This name will be attached to recordings by default, but you can customise the name later. 5. Use the default Recordings folder address (recommended). How to set server configuration 1. Click on the Server tab. 2. Enter prodadmin.lcs.uwa.edu.au:8443 in the Hostname / IP Address field. 3. Select HTTPS as the connection protocol. 4.
