While the job market and the food chain may seem like totally different things, they in
fact have numerous commonalities. At the bottom of the food chain are plants, they are at the
mercy of every other organism; but despite being so low they are the basis for every other
thing on the food chain. Plants are equivalent to people looking for jobs, if there were no
people who wanted jobs there would be no businesses, yet the jobless are at the mercy of
businesses (other organisms). Herbivores are the next highest on the food chain.
Herbivores eat the grass, making them higher up, but they are still below the carnivores
who eat them. Herbivores are content with just eating plants but the carnivores disrupt their
way of life. Middle class workers are their job market equivalent. The middle class workers are
better off than the jobless, but still have a boss who issues their tasks (disrupting their lives).
Carnivores, are at the top of the food chain. They prey on the herbivores and don't have
to worry about being killed. But they must compete with other carnivores who may take their
limited food. Bosses are like carnivores because they call the shots, similar to how carnivores
decide what animal to eat, they also have good job security and don't have to worry about
being fired (being killed). But the bosses must decide what to do when faced with competition
from another business who is competing for the same market.
