Stafford 1 Myisha Stafford Skradski Themes 09 November 2011 Life Changes Change is something that is a part of life. Throughout life everyone changes, some change for the good and others change for the bad. In the Shakespeare play Macbeth the main character Macbeth goes through a lot of changes, but the changes he went through weren’t for the better. Even though he felt it would better his life. In the beginning of the story Macbeth was out of town on a combat mission. The king asks how the caption is doing and Macbeth's name comes up because he fought with courage and violence so the caption can escape. This makes him look good and is a good change for him to become king. Then he starts thinking and realizes Duncan has sons that more than likely will become king next. Macbeth tells his wife about it and they come up with a plan to kill him. He thinks about and starts to get scared and wants to change his mind. Lady Macbeth questions his masculinity. After he kills the king he brings the daggers back with him. "Why did you bring these daggers from the place? They must lie there. Go carry them, and smear the sleepy grooms with blood."(Act 1 Scene 7). From this point things only went down. In the middle of the story Macbeth become king but now he and his wife have fear of getting caught. Macbeth feels he has to kill anyone that he feels threated by or who he thinks Stafford 2 knows he killed the king. Banque has a weird suspicion that he had something to do with the king disappearing. Macbeth gets plan to gather to kill him. Banquo has to go out of town so he couldn’t make it to the dinner introducing the new king (Macbeth). When Banquoe was out of the the vision of people Macbeths people killed him. During the dinner Macbeth looks up and see's Banquoe's ghost. By the end of the book Macbeth had no guilt for killing all the people he did. Now Macbeth doesn’t fear anyone because the three witches told him, "You must be aware of Macduff. No man born of woman can harm you and you’re safe until birnam woods come to Dunsinane Castle."( Act Scene ). A battle broke out against Macbeth. While waiting for someone to cross his path one of his men came and told him that the Queen had killed herself. Macbeth doesn’t have the reaction that most people would. He wishes she would have waited tell the battle was over so he would have time to grieve. Macbeth and Macduff get in to a fight but the only thing Macbeth didn’t no is Macduff wasn’t born of a woman like most humans. Macbeth ends up getting killed everyone in the castle felt relief and didn’t have to fear being killed anymore. "An open mind leaves a chance for someone to drop a worthwhile thought in it." Throughout this book you see the changes not only Macbeth went through but Lady Macbeth. He was a courageous man in the beginning in the middle he was a filled with fear and at the end he had no care in the world. That is an example of change but not for the good.
