Modular, digital delegate unit for flush mount or table top mounting; freely
configurable, combinable with all standard international socket outlets and
media/data connections
The digital delegate unit (chairman, delegate) is constructed both modular and
flexible. In terms of functionality and sequence the specific conference modules
are almost freely configurable. In addition the delegate unit can be individually
retrofitted with socket outlets, data and media connectors. For a seamless
integration into the conference environment different built-in frames and table
top housings are available.
Profile chassis:
Aluminium profile chassis, variable in length, can be retrofitted with single
modules of the same product line. There shall be individual modules available
according to the logical function, as there are:
- microphone socket (for detachable gooseneck microphone) or fixed built-in
microphone
- illuminated microphone button with LED
- additional priority button for chairman unit
- OLED-Display with 5 function keys, channel selector and voting keys
- 2 alternative keys for channel selector (without display)
- up to 5 additional extra function keys
- headphone connector with individual volume control
- built-in loudspeaker
- RFID card reader
- RJ45 sockets for daisy chain interconnection, alternative 8-pin S8G sockets
The conference profile chassis shall be extendable with connector modules for
the customized integration of different data and media sockets into the same
housing.
The profile housing shall be equipped with plastic end-caps, which ensures
tool-free installation into the mounting frame as well as easy removal for a quick
interchange of chassis.
The entire conference units shall be replaceable as quickly as possible
It shall be possible to easily interchange individual data and media connectors
to keep up the entire conference unit with the latest media technology. It shall
be possible to retrofit additional media connectors without removal of the
conference unit by simply loosing screws. Changing the specific configuration
of the conference module shall also be possible, e.g. adding or interchanging
loudspeaker or headphone module. It shall be possible to replace single modules
of the delegate unit for easy repair.
Mounting frames for flush mount or table top installation:
The individually equipped profile chassis shall be mounted in various mounting
frames for flush mount or table top installation depending on the chassis length.
The complete profile chassis unit shall simply plug into the built-in frame from
below without the need for any tools and also easily be removed for a quick
interchange of chassis.
The built-in frame shall allow a seamless flush fitting into a table.
Mounting frames for table top installation shall be user-focused towards the
delegate, mounted on top of the table or at the table edge. Cables shall be routed
behind a cover. Table thickness shall be from 10 up to 50 mm. The aluminium mounting
brackets shall allow also temporary installation without damaging the table top.

Microphone operation modes of the delegate unit
(Depending on central unit configuration):

Max. delegates: Maximum number of active delegates microphones ( 1 to 6)

Automatic mode:
- AUTomatic: Delegates can enable their microphones with the microphone
button. When the maximum number is reached, no additional microphones
can be enabled.
- AUTFloat: Delegates can enable their microphones with the microphone
button. When the maximum number is reached, the delegate deactivates
the microphone that was active for the longest time.
- AUTNext: Delegates can enable their microphones with the microphone
button. When the maximum number is reached, additional microphones are
added to the request-to-speak list. The microphone will be enabled when
another delegate disables his microphone. Request to speak will be
indicated with a flashing microphone button.
- AUTUnlimited: All delegate units can enable their microphones at the
same time. There is no limit in the number of active microphones.

VIP units:
- Microphone units can be assigned as units. There is no limit in the number
of assigned VIPs. A VIP unit can be enabled freely in any mode as long
as number of active VIPs does not exceed the limit of maximum active
VIP microphones. The maximum number of active VIP microphones can be
from 1 to 6.

Voice activation mode (VOX):
When a delegate speaks, the microphone activates automatically. Delegates can
mute their microphones with the microphone button. Sensitivity and shut-off
time can be adjusted.
- VAL: Voice activation mode with limitation of the number of active
microphones as in normal automatic mode.
VAU: Voice activation mode with unlimited number of active microphones
- VALC: Voice activation mode with chairman mute function and limitation
of the number of active microphones.
- VAUC: Voice activation mode with chairman mute function and unlimited
number of active microphones.
In VALC and VAUC mode the chairman can mute all delegate microphones. In
addition a noise signal can be send to the loudspeaker and/or audio outputs
to allow “off record” one to one consultations, which even delegates in
the conference room are unable to understand.

PTT mode:
In PPT mode microphones are activated as long as the microphone button is
pushed. The setting for maximum number of active microphone applies.

RTS mode: Request-to-speak mode is controlled by application software
The built-in loudspeaker of a delegate unit shall mute automatically when the
microphone is activated.
Structure conference technology:
The delegate unit shall be designed for a daisy-chain single cable technology.
For full flexibility there is no fixed cable attached. All delegate units shall
be connected by the same highly flexible system cable with lockable connectors.
All different delegate unit variants shall be compatible with each other and shall
be used in the same system. They shall be compatible with table top units of the
same system family. They all shall be compatible to an 32 channel simultaneous
interpretation system (Floor + 31 languages). All audio signals shall be processed
digitally.

Data cable "Flex PUR", Cu: 4x2x0.14 mm², copper wire braid SFTP,
Outer sheath: PUR, cadmium and lead free, flame retardant, halogen free (FRNC),
Diameter: 6.2 mm; Colour of outer sheath: black;
per meter, ring up to 250m.

Power and data supply of the conference unit via system bus cable:
PREVIOUS (Standard RJ45, alternative S8G) for connection to central unit /
previous conference unit
NEXT (RJ45, alternative S8G) for connection to next conference unit
Module microphone socket: microphone socket (type MINICON). The corresponding
microphone is lockable and shall be easy to attach/detach.
Module headphone socket: 3.5mm jack plug
Module power, data or media connector: depending on type
Equipment conference technology (depending on type):
Module microphone button with indicator MIC ON (permanently illuminated), REQUEST
(flashing), "Mute all" button for permanent or temporary muting of all microphone
units by the chair person.
Module loudspeaker: for decentralised sound reinforcement.
Module channel selector: OLED-Display (256 x 32 pixels) with automatic brightness
adaption, 5 buttons for channel selector, volume control, voting and additional
functions.
Module headphone socket, with separate volume control.
Module identification: RFID card reader ISO/IEC 14443
Equipment power outlets, data and media connectors:
Core components for audio, video and media technology. Easy connection via
socket/socket modules or via screw terminals. Modules are compatible to current
switch models of well-known manufacturers. Quick and easy fitting independent
from the conference unit allows even retrospective adaption to changing
requirements in the future. Standard international outlet sockets can be
retrofitted as well.
